minimum hardware that can play on DX11 and high textures

Basically any DX11 card with 1GB of VRAM that's more powerful than an 8800GT.

So basically Radeon HD 5750 and above and a 64-bit processor (preferrably quad core)

You probably don't need 1GB of VRAM. 768MB would probably pull it off and 512MB as well, maybe with come occasional slight freezing on 512.

An i5 or equivalent, a gtx 560 card or equivalent, and 4GB RAM, preferably at least 1600, folks ...you're gonna need some serious hardware for this, i'm hoping my gtx 580 will manage but i dunno ...i don't use a lot of the effects like blur & MSAA so i should be fine.
Folks lemme say this 768MB of VRAM ain't gonna be enough for the full update, i don't supopse 1GB VRAM will be enough either if you want it all on max, just sayin' i'm not going to argue but to max this update you're gonna need to spend some cash on a gaming rig, not a saturday afternoon passtime box.

My guess is an HD 6950/GTX 570 video card or better. :)

Well it depends on the resolution he's playing at. I'm stating the "Minimum" for like 1440x900.

At 1920x1080, you'll need at least a GTX 460 if not better.

key word here is "minimum" so if you bring down the res some then a GTX 460 will probably get the job done. but to play at 1680x1050 or over it will probably take 5870 or better to get playable frames.

I've seen you post a lot about hardware on the forums. I have no idea why you doubt your GTX580. It was rated like most efficient card of the year by tomshardware. The card is amazing, you'll be fine.

I doubt this will be as bad as the first crysis, if you can play that you should be able to handle this.

So, iPwn, you think a GTX 560 will be able to handle everything maxed at 1980x1200 at decent FPS for MP

a GTX460 will run it, I think. Of course only if you lower some of the settings.....if you want to run it on max, I would recommend you more than one GPU...

Most single cards at the time of Crysis 1 weren't enough to get great framerates, which made SLI popular.
Though you are right, the GTX580 is a beast like the ati6990. It depends how much glory this patch brings back to the game. At the time of Crysis warhead, I had one of the top single graphics cards, and only got 30 frames per second on max settings, which dipped during gunfights, smoke spam.

I've found an interesting tech story, that you can tri-fire a 6990 with a 6970, if I had either of those cards, a better power supply, a bigger case, I'd think about doing it.

Ironically smoke could become effective because of the frame lag it gives people if enough of your team uses it LOL.

I downloaded the texturepack from a link that was here for awhile, and get this message on execution:

This optional pack requires a 64-bit Operating System and a video card with at least 768MB of RAM. Do you want to continue with the installation? [Next>] [Cancel]

There may be some hope for my twin 460-768's yet.

I don't know guys, but I think it might bring my Dual XFX 6970 in Crossfire and i5-2500k @ 5.0ghz down to it's knees! If The Witcher 2 with ubersample enabled gave my system a run for it's money, I bet C2 with Ultra Textures and DX11 will be challenging. I sure hope I can play Ultra w/ DX11, fully maxed out at 1080p on my rig!

LOL, no it won't and Ubersampling in The Witcher 2 is very high AA sampling and does it 4 times. I think it's 2x2 AA.

Waitwaitwait. So if I have 512MB VRAM it won't let me install it? Or is it just a warning?

anyone that's gonna have any GPU trouble with the update could tweak the game to suit your setup more using the whitelist of commands for the autoexec /console than by using the new advanced graphics feature, <For this reason i'm anxious to see the new whitelist and understand what all the commands do exactly.
