I liked him. Sure, the guy had a nasty habit of shooting you in the back, but he was a TREMENDOUS help early game. Made fights way easier, I gotta give him props for that.

Course, he still ended up lying dead in the Wasteland...can't be helped in FO1, I suppose. :sadvaultboy:

There used to be a smiley which summed him up nicely :(

Anyways, i like him when he isnt shooting me in the back. Cant really imagine playing without him.

He was a mixed blessing.

Shot me in the back more times than I care to count. I kept him until he died, but I certainly didn't miss him.

There is a reason people call him "friend for life" Ian. I only wish he had canonically survived into Fallout 2, as was originally planned.

I liked Ian quite a bit and he barely ever shot me in the back. Plus he was helpful when clearing out the radscorpions.

Was a good first helper. He actually never shot me in the back. :) I always gave him some room to work. :D

Agreed, the only time I experienced his infamous "10MM SMG + your back" was years back. And only once too.

Isn't he in the Fallout Restoration Project?

That's not canon, of course there's no canon source saying that he didn't survive to see the events of Fallout 2 either. Considering that there's an 80 year gap though, I find it highly unlikely.

Hmmm, fair enough, I guess I usually interpret the Restoration Project as canon since it is material that was intended to be in the original game but was cut for whatever reasons

Of course, considering how hard it is to keep him alive in FO1, I guess it's not surprising that he didn't survive. :D
