Sheogorath In Skyrim

Post » Sun Jun 26, 2011 9:14 pm

Hmm... makes me think what the CoC and Haskill are doing right now...

"Almost 200 years Haskill, and I still have the memories of Martin! Or was it Steven? I can't really remember now."

*Haskill facepalms*

"Whatever you say sir."

Speaking of that, does Sheogorath and Haskill remind anyone of Kif and Zap from Futurama?

But they never do, when addressing mortals.
Hircine could take the form of a badger wearing a sombrero, but he never does.
So, even if the PC from Oblivion were to show up as Sheogorath, it would likely be as Sheogorath's recognized form, because mortals appreciate continuity.
Sheogorath refutes this! His only continuity is that he looks human and has funky eyes. Otherwise, he went from redhead banker with a goatee (DF), to bald, chubby businessman with a goatee (MW), and finally at weird Scottish artist (OB/SI).

And Hircine used to wear the skull of a deer (DF and MW), but thought the entire deer head was better (OB)

It does, however, Sheogorath is at least intelligent, albeit insane...

Those aren't really drastically different.
Real people can make those changes to themselves.

He'll never appear as a Male Dunmer or a Female Khajiit.

True...But...the khajiit do see him as another khajiit. Of course, it's best to give the princes some consistency. Not to mention they probably keep those forms to represent their spheres.

Example, Mehrunes Dagon looks like Shiva on bull steroids, how Peryite's form is that to mock Akatosh, and Molag Bal looks like a demon.

I believe the entire questline surrounding Sheogorath was meant to start topics like this. No man can ever know the true mysteries surrounding the Prince of Madness. Look at all you fools trying to figure it out, you'll never know and that's the point. And the more you try? You'll only go mad, courtesy of Sheogorath.

Sheogorath supposedly looks like Ted Peterson. Actually many of the aedra and daedra lords have names and appearances based on developers and people involved in Daggerfall. They can appear like they want to, but they probably have a 'default' form of sorts so that any mortal can recognize them at glance.

Sheogorath will want you to jump off the throat of the world.

Because your parents are down there.

Could you just-could you just jump into that pit? There? That deadly pit? You're saying to yourself, 'why should I jump into the pit?' I'll tell you why. Guess who's down there!? Your parents! You're not adopted after all. It's your natural parents, down there in the pit. Should've mentioned it before, but I didn't. So, jump on down... and reunite... with mommy and daddy. Oh, I'll tell you what's also down there... your parents! And there's also an escape elevator... down there... funny... I should have mentioned it before, but somebody's down there... so pop down-jump down. You got your folks down there... and an escape elevator. And... what else is down there... tell you what, it's only a new jump suit! A very trendy... designer... jump from France... down there... which is exactly your size and if it's a bit baggy, we got a tailor down there as well who can take it in for you. What's this!? A lovely hand-bag!? And... the THREE portal device, also down-it's all down in there! Um... you got a yacht and... BOYS! Loads of boys! Fellas! Hunky guys down there, possibly even a boy friend! Who's to say, you're not sure at this stage.

I don't care how Sheogorath appears in game - he probably let go of his mortal form a long time ago and has since forgotten much of who he was. I don't think he will be the same old Sheogorath though, though his statue will be the same since it was probably built before the CoC became the mad god. Personally, I just want to see The Adoring Fan at the Sheogorath's shrine - having been made immortal by the Mad God, but is unable to ever leave the shrine ever. When you talk to him he begs you to kill him - but he can only be knocked unconscious.

He will more than likely be who he was before. It fits. But he could have taken over several and tired of them by now. I mean it's 200 years later. He could be most any form.

Maybe no Sheogorath shrines, and instead Jygallag shrines? Or however you spell it?

Is it possible to link a picture of what he looked like in MO?

Well, yeah, in the last three, there have been.
With the exception of Jyggalag, who was created for the Shivering Isles expansion.

IIRC, Jyggalag existed in the lore before the Shivering Isles. Not much was known about him, and it was uncertain whether he was a 17th Prince or merely a powerful Daedroth.
