Features Advertised In CE3 That Did Not Show Up In Crysis 2

First of all, I'm sure many of you remember the physics demos that were being showcased well before this games release, I only stumbled upon this video recently. However I find it being quite odd that crytek never said anything to the community about these features being removed from the cryengine. I feel this is not right as the second video below clearly shows that there will be a ton more destruction than there actually ended up being in the game.

(Specifically :46 seconds in for this video:)

P.S. The Dx11 Ultra Upgrade is all fine and dandy, however what will that do for us gameplay wise? Still very rarely can you destroy something like in crysis 2 :(

Those features all are in cryengine 3 but they didn't show in Crysis 2. I really don't know why but maybe we'll get physX upgrade later ?

Not ONCE in either of those videos did anyone claim that those features would be in Crysis 2. What you THINK should be in a game does not equate to false advertising. You're flaming with no facts to back up your claim. That makes this a troll thread and you a troll. Be gone troll.

Wake up on the wrong side of the bed? Last time i checked calmly stating an opinion was not flaming. I'll change the title if that helps you feel better about this whole terrible ordeal.

You do realize you can do all of those things in Crysis 2. It's not fully widespread, but shooting concrete barriers and large pillars will cause them to break as shown. As for the shooting tops of buildings, from what I've seen it works on several buildings but not all.

Procedural deformation is also there, the all box like metal containers in Crysis 2 are deformable. I haven't fully played around with them, but shooting them with the APC cause them to bend.

And any loose object is destructible.Flower pots, computers, etc.

As for trees, the thin ones are destructible. The thick ones...no.

Thanks guys I'm just trying to gauge everyone else's opinions on this area of the game, and iPwn good info, I guess i just wish they didn't make it so only certain things were destructable unlike the first Crysis. Another thing that would be awesome is if they made multiplayer maps follow a Day and Night cycle, that would truly be awesome.

It says "Cyrysis 2 Achieved with Cryengine 3" which it is. It does not say that that footage is from Crysis 2. It's a Cryengine tech demo using a Crysis skin. Moron.

Borss, thats what he is trying to convey, the way the vid is structured it appears to be advertising crysis 2 and the features within cryis 2 which is acheived with cryengine 3,

its like Intel advertising there core I7 architecture features whilst not actually using it in any Core I7 processors. it does sound silly doesnt it.

Also ive seen you post in another thead that you run your own business, if thats the case wouldnt you agree that in business terms releasing a game engine yet not showing off its main features in its flagship game is abit silly also.

and one last thing, you call anyone who disagrees with you or says anything bad against crytek/crysis 2 a troll, however you also are showing signs of trolling as well but trolling for crytek/crysis 2 rather then against.

you and justinbeibers i love reading the posts :)

okay lets be nice here! Yes the post was worded oddly, but a large percentage of the gaming community perceived the tech videos they were releasing as being features that would be in the game. It is unfortunate that Crytek did not put down these ideas because it got everyone's expectations of the game and its graphical and physical features way up. The Visuals are finally being taken care of now but it is quite a shame that the physics are so consolized.

I never said it wasn't misleading nor did I say it was the most ethical thing from a business standpoint. However, that being said, they never said all of those features would be in Crysis 2 so it's not false advertising. Peole just ASSumed. Bringing these points up now accomplishes nothing but TROLLING for a negative response and ads nothing of value to the forums.

Well:
1. I am glad you agree about the advertisemants being slightly misleading.
2. I agreed it is not false advertising and changed the post name, we discussed this earliers, thanks.
3. Trolling is by definition, "A dumbass who makes idiotic posts in message boards newsgroups for the sole purpose of pissing people off, often lacking in intelligence." In comparison to that definition, I have not tried to piss anyone off, I have not tried to receive a negative response and in fact do not want one, and I am simply trying to gauge peoples feelings on this game's end result. Now if it makes you feel better flipping through this forum as the "troll police" by all means keep it up.
However, keep in mind that you are in fact being a troll yourself because as YOU said: 1. You're accomplishing absolutely nothing. 2. You're looking for a negative response. 3. You're adding nothing of value to the forum.
Thanks,
Clay

WOW! What a stupid thing to say! Why in the world would the footage NOT be from Crysis 2? There's the Nanosuit, the Scar AR as well as the pistol, New York being attacked, and the SandBox 3 Demo.

Even at the end of the video it say "CRYSIS 2 ACHIEVED WITH CRYENGINE 3"
The purpose of that video is to showcase what the possibilities of CryEngine 3 are within the game Crysis 2

That's like DICE showing footage from Battlefield: Bad Company 2, but then saying "BATTLEFIELD 3 ACHIEVED WITH FROSTBITE 2" Now that's a cliff hanger.

Well said, it is a little bit frustrating to see all that destruction in what looks like an earlier beta build than the one that was even leaked, but then when you play the final release there is none of that destruction.
