Help - what do you think about some replacer mods?

Post » Tue Jun 28, 2011 4:33 pm

I've got the following replacers ready to load in a new game:
Spoiler
Mesh Improvements
Taddeus' On the Rocks
Richer Textures
Texture Fix
Visual Pack

I'm just trying to get a feel for what people think of how well they work with each other in the game. One site suggested installing RT first and then VP. Another site suggests VP but doesn't mention RT. I haven't seen any talk about to what extent Mesh Improvements, Taddeus' mods and Texture Fix overlap each other, just the general recommendation to install the most extensive replacers first and work down from there.

I'm aware of Vibrant Morrowind and checked it out a bit, but it was too much for my taste. I liked the look of RT but found that one of the replacers I installed after RT ended up wiping out some of the rock colors I liked in RT. I'd like to get some idea of how much overlap of stuff being replaced thre might be before I spend a lot of time getting into a game.

I can't see why it might happen, but would any of thes cause a performance hit on FPS?

Thanks,

John

Only if you had an absolutely ancient computer, and I do mean ancient. *chuckle*

Texture fix (fixes landscapes), mesh improvements (smooths item meshes), and on the rocks (replaces rock object meshes/textures) have no overlap.

No idea about RT or VP. Try them and see.

Thanks. At least my pc is not ancient :) It's only a year old ;) and to save money I chose one which had an integrated graphics chip (after making sure it could handle MW, ov course.

I know that RT and VP do overlap, if only because I noticed it in the Seyda Neen Custom Office brick wall. RT gave it a darker, purplish??? hue but installing VP afterwards changed it back to (towards?) the vanilla MW. Probably I'm being too finicky; it's certainly hard enough to see and keep in mind the differences at times, especially when it can take so long to play through a game in RL
