playstyles within playstyles?

in diablo 3 they have runes to augment abilities. you can do things like make your dual wield warrior swing slowly for heavy amounts of damage or swing lightning fast and be a dual wielding chainsaw. i'm wondering if something like this could be implemented in oblivion. can we use a two handed sword with quick swipes on one character and then use the same sword in large, fatal swings on another? are there any variations in magic builds? can two people make lightning centered destruction characters and end up with different feeling combat? will my archer have the option to shoot multiple arrows / reloading faster / traps and technology / ammunition varieties?

i guess not only am i looking to get multiple plays over multiple classes im also looking to get multiple plays within a single class.

Use exclusively power attacks on one character, none on the next. Or just use dual-wield weapons if you want speed, that's what it's here for.

It looks like Chain Lightning might be chargeable, so yes. Not to mention the fact that there's five distinct schools of magic you can focus in.

I expect there to be some kind of perk which increases reload speed. Alchemy's poisons add variety to ammunition. There's some trap-like spells you can use.

Perks will be similar the Diablo 3's runes.

im fully aware i can choose to only use certain attacks to make different feels each play through. what my post is about is this question: "if i use only quick swipes and not power attacks will i still be viable? is there a way to spice up swiping so that i can choose to forget about power attacks?

telling me if i want a speedy two hand sword just to do dual wield isnt a helpful comment in any way.

also your magic comment isnt useful. the nature of my suggestion is that each 5 magic schools has variations of themselves. so that two destruction mages can feel different.

I highly doubt it will be as in depth changes as Diablo III, however perks will somewhat allow somewhat different playstyles within the same skill.....easily moreso than other TES titles.

Just take the mace/axe/sword or ice/lightening/fire Perks for example....all in one Skill but result in different play-styles.

Yes. Why wouldn't you be viable without power attacks? I rarely use them in Oblivion.

Why do you want a speedy two hand sword?

It was useful. It answered your question. Tell me you didn't miss all of the different Destruction spells in the demo. Chargeable Chain Lightning, a flamethrower and fireball, frost traps. All of those are Destruction. And you can make two different Destruction mages unique by mixing in other spells from different schools. One Destruction mage might utilize the Frost Rune spell by littering the floor of a hallway with it and using an Illusion-based Frenzy on a group of enemies nearby, pulling them to their death. Another might use Conjuration to keep an enemy distracted while he plants Frost Runes for later. There is nothing that would stop you from doing things like this, like there is in a class-based game like Diablo.
