Magic and Archery

Is it possible to wield a spell in one hand and a bow in the other? Because I had an idea about how that could work. The spell equipped acts as an enchantment on the arrow, the more powerful the spell, the stronger the enchantment. What do you think?

I don't think so.

Seems pretty clear you need both hands to draw a bow.

I think his point was you use one hand to pull the string/arrow back so it could enchant the arrow in the process.

Not a bad idea in my opinion but then mage archery would be overpowered compared to regular archery.

True. Maybe the arrow loses magic power the longer its in flight?

maybe there will be a spell you can cast before drawing the bow that gives you a temporary buff.

otherwise, you will probably need to use Enchanting skill at a workbench to enchant your arrows

This would result in the same problem Oblivion introduced. One play style (in Oblivion spellswords, in Skyrim magic archers) makes some pure play styles useless. All the benefits of one with some of the benefits of another.

What's nice about the current hand system is it naturally eliminates that issue. No need to reintroduce it.
