major issues with perks

Post » Tue Jun 28, 2011 8:38 pm

I am not talking about the skyrim perks because who knows what they will be, but i there are some major issues with the perks in oblivion, especially with the repetitive ones, marksman, blunt, hand to hand and blade, the issue being that they all have the same perks at the end, knockdown and paralyze, so i was hoping that it would be different for skyrim, but in one of the interviews i heard todd say that one of the perks for marksman is to zoom in, so that got me thinking, what if they are exactly the same from oblivion, do you think that they will be the same, would you want them to be?

aslo, what are some perks that you would like to see for marksman, blunt or blade? i would like to see a perk for blade that makes you swing faster.

Oblivion only had 4 per skill and Skyrim will have like... 15? So there'll probably be some that are familiar but there'll have to be bunches of new ones.

Then why are you here? Oblivion forums are down the hall to the left...

so that got me thinking, what if they are exactly the same from oblivion, do you think that they will be the same, would you want them to be?

Don't see how they could be the same since if you get to thinking, you notice they've said in Skyrim you get to pick a perk every character level, as opposed to Oblivion where each skill had its own non-pickable predetermined perks at skill level 25, 50, 75, and 100.

So no, I can confidently say there's no "think" to it, they definitely will not be the same.

Oblivion perks were almost an after thought in my opinion

The way they are implemented in Skyrim is more like they are in fallout. Each will be unique

For example Mace Ignores armor and Daggers do more stealth

I doubt they will make all of the weapon skills too generic

You forgot the part where zooming slows time down, thats pretty epic. The ones we have examples of so far already trump Oblivions by miles, then you gotta remember they probably won't be cookie cutter like Oblivion's, and that theres 280 of them.

I'm not sure, but the 280 perks might include upgrades of other perks (as in there are 70 perks, with 3 upgrades each). Just an example.

Some are upgrades. For instance, the Shield Bash perk has 5 levels to it, as seen in the E3 demo.
