Possibility of High-Res Textures??

I'm in no way saying that we're going to get this, but I'm reading a lot of reviews on the PC DirectX11/High Res Texture Pack, saying that the textures weren't improved by much, something like 128x128pixels to 256x256pixels (I don't remember everything I read) .. I'm guessing, but possibly the consoles could get an upgrade? I know if they increased the stability of the game framerates, they could probably do it, Xbox and PS3..

The xbox can't even run any game in 1080p, without upscaling the image... What makes you even fathom the possibility of high res textures. You do realize they had to lower texture resolutions and etc just to run the stock game without any upgrades whatsoever on the xbox 360.

Won't happen, simply cause Crytek pretty much squeezed everything out of the textures for the consoles already and there is no much more memory left for such an update. As for the PC highres package they doubled the texturesize of around 2000 key assets, 2000 from around 21.000 total assets (2x texture size = 4x increased memory use) Just the 2000 blow the memory usage out of proportion (needs 1.5G gfx memory), since it really doesn't add anything more to the game while you play it, just when you take a closer look around to inspect everything, you will notice a difference especially for assets with textures that have text.

Erm people are having framerate problems already? I highly doubt that people want to play slideshows on consoles?

How is from 128x128 pixels to 256x256 not a huge improvement? It's the double of what it was before.
