I'll probably be exiled from the thread, if not the TES community for saying this, but I think Twilight's sort of cute. I imagine it'd be much less of an issue if people who didn't like it just let it be, rather than holding it up as some sort of black grail of anti-fiction.

That said, it's worth keeping in mind that vampires and werewolves have been very appealing and thought-provoking elements of fiction for a very long time, so no one should be surprised that they're a popular subject, and a much-requested feature; especially in Skyrim, the perfect setting, in the perfect game, in the perfect genre for (role)playing such a creature.

I hereby remove all my admiration and respect for you, Fearless Hero. I thought better of you. I really did. Next person as to so much agree that Twilight is cute/good/awesome/great/etc will be reported for spam and disordetly conduct in the forums. I have a big issue with Twilight. I can give many reasons, but the reason I can give best is the fact that people try to compare Twilight with our fascination for vampires and werewolves. No one can see a werewolf thread and complain that it's Twilight related. I literally had me a sentance away from flaming my mouth off to them.

I'll stand with you. I enjoy Twilight, but perhaps for different reasons. I'm drawn to the power and perfection of the differing characters. I suppose it's envy on my part. The story line was decent and though I had many problems with some of the idiotic characters and lore, I liked them.
Further, I really hope for both in Skyrim, but not those specific types of vampires or werewolves.

It's ridiculous to specifically ban a topic - Twilight. Only because we have our own opinions, I could just as easily harbor the same for Van Helsing, but you wouldn't ban that. It can stimulate the thread constantly with relevant ideas since we deal may deal with it more regularly. But, it is your post, do as you wish.

:(

That just illustrates my point, though. That you take it so seriously grants it far more respect and power than it would otherwise have. From my perspective, it's the equivalent of an insecure Nordic warrior stomping on a kitten in a show of strength; he's not proving to anyone how strong he is, or how weak the kitten is; only that he's insecure in one or the other (or both). I've loved vampires for a long time, done a lot of roleplaying and writing with and about them, and I think I'd feel quite guilty if I were to put any effort into criticising Twilight. For one, it'd be very easy, but more importantly, I don't need to. Nothing about Twilight or its popularity has changed my enjoyment of vampires in fiction.

It seems as if the "serious/hardcoe/mature" vampire fans have to go around proving how not into Twilight they are, which strikes me as more than a little curious (see the Nordic warrior vs. kitten anology). I don't like vampires as depicted in http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0112896/ either, but you won't see me complaining about it.

Apologies for the lengthy and mostly off-topic post(s). Just wanted to clarify.
