Spear City

The NCR has decided to push further east into Legion territory after it’s victory at the Second Battle of Hoover Dam. The Legion is essentially obliterated, and the power vacuum has caused the territory once held by Caesar to be controlled by localized gangs of raiders and tribals, as it once was. Now, the NCR has built a settlement in what was once the Kaibab National Forest. The settlement is rather large, and is completely walled in except for one gate to the west, and one to the east.

This settlement, known as Spear City (due to the rows of pointed logs that make up the walls), has attracted much negative attention from both the remnants of the Legion, and the raider gangs in the area. Recently the town has been suffering a string of attacks, though most of them are small bands and are easily repelled, though it has caused the city’s growth to slow down, and so the NCR has decided to send out an invitation to all of those within it’s borders. Farmers, builders, and simple settlers looking for a new home are all welcome. Mostly though, the NCR is hoping to attract mercenaries to supplement it’s troops in the area, because the officials back west have been refusing to send reinforcements.

Mordecai Xavier Fawkes Marketplace

Dex grunted, shifting uncomfortably from one foot to the other, as he had been standing at his post for nearly four hours now. Four incredibly long hours. The NCR’s ranking officer had ordered for Dex and his hound Zeke to stand by the western gate on guard duty. This would be all fine and well, except that his relief had never shown up, and he was getting antsy. Sparing a glance at the few stalls that were scattered about Dex let out a sigh. He had been living in this city for a month now, working for the NCR nonstop with only one hundred dollars to show for it. Being a mercenary here should have been good money, but because the Crimson Hounds (the mercenary group he was a part of) made a special contract with the NCR, most of his earnings were being sent back west to the Hounds’ compound in the Mojave, while what he received for himself was barely enough to pay the rent on his new home.

Officially that was why he was here, to work for the NCR, but Dex knew the truth. Spear City was just a convenient way for his father’s killer, David Alexander, to get him out of the picture in order to secure his position of the leader of the Crimson Hounds. Dex realized he was essentially exiled, and he no longer cared. He was content to see the city grow and prosper, not once wishing to return to the Mojave and it’s pseudo-political [censored] because it had only ever caused him pain. He smiled and greeted a passing NCR patrol, briefly exchanging pleasantries with the men, before pulling his hand radio off of his belt and raising it to his mouth.

“NCR command this is Fawkes requesting my relief, over.”

After a brief pause he received, “Dammit Fawkes, you’ve been radioing in every five minutes for the past hour. As we’ve told you before, there was a mix up with the schedule, and someone will be along shortly. Don’t get your damned panties in a knot! …Over.”

Dex grimaced, knowing that even though he had accepted the life he was given, the NCR was hard on soldiers, even their own. He let his hunting rifle sag a bit, and he leaned against the wall, then looked down at Zeke, who was asleep by his feet. Had the dog been standing up, the creature’s shoulders would have reached Dex’s chest, a much more menacing sight than any of those mutts employed by the NCR. He looked back over at the marketplace and sighed… it was going to be a long day.

Igasho: Market Place

Igasho awoke before the sun came out, as he did everyday, and just like every other day he had a brief moment of startled panic, before returning to calm.

Why do people put the ground above their heads?

Ceilings were not a foreign concept to Igasho, but the question “why” still plagued him. When he asked one of the soldiers if it was possible to remove it, they looked at him weird, laughed, and then walked off muttering about “weirdos”.

Another thing that fascinated him was the mirror. He had seen shards one ones in explorations, their shimmering reflections dazzling him, but he had never seen a complete one like the one in his bathroom.

Using the sink he carefully washed every inch of his body, like he did every morning, the fact that water was so ready available was another miracle, but he knew that he shouldn't always rely on it. The first part of his morning ritual was complete when he put on his pants and necklace. Then it was time for the jog.

Igasho loved to run, and he did so everyday, running the length of the entire town and back again, ignoring any looks he got.

By the time he finished his body would be cover in a thin film of sweat and it would already be mid-day. Afterward he just wander around and checked out the town. Today he was in the marketplace. Buying an apple. Or whatever passed for an apple.

The sign said something, but it was just a bunch of gibberish to him.

“How much for this...thing,” he pointed. He felt his throat move, but heard nothing, he lived in a world of silence.

The merchant smiled; the missing shirt, the bone necklace, the hide pants, an obvious tribal and therefore an easy target. He moved the little sign that said: 1$,
“Fiver dollars for one.”

Igasho could not hear, but he could certainly read lips. The problem was that he wasn't actually sure which paper slip was the “five dollar”, he never needed money back in his tribe. He quickly leafed through the paper, pulling out one that had a “10” in the corner and cautiously handing it to the greedy merchant.

The merchant quickly snatched it up and thanked him before turning to the next customer. Igasho reluctantly left the stall, feeling cheated, the merchant seemed untrustworthy. As he wandered the rest of the marketplace, biting the apple that tasted strangely like dirt, he spotted a dog. A big dog. With a red coat, something he had never seen before.

He nimbly made his way over to the dog and it's handler, his bare feet barely making a sound.

“That's one of biggest dogs I've seen. Where did you get him?” Igasho asked in a voice barely above that of a whisper.

Mordecai Xavier Fawkes Marketplace

Dex watched as an oddly dressed man wove his way through the marketplace, a single look and it was obvious he was a tribal. ’Been a while since I’ve met one of them…’ Dex thought. As the man came closer, it became obvious he was making a beeline straight for him, though from his apparently passive demeanor, Dex felt it would be pointless to wake Zeke. The tribal stopped before him and gave the sleeping hound a long look, before inquiring, “That's one of biggest dogs I've seen. Where did you get him?”

The man’s voice was a mere whisper, barely audible, but Dex caught enough of it to piece it together. His beloved dog was one of his favorite topics, and a slight smile was on his lips as he replied, “I come from a line of dog breeders, so Zeke here was bred by my family. My dad owned the merc company I work for, and most of us have a dog or two. Some mercs companies have a symbol or special weapon, but us Crimson Hounds are known for our red dogs and armor,” Dex stopped leaning on the wall and stretched, before finally deciding to rouse Zeke. Once Zeke was awake, he shook of his fur, and stood to his full height. The beast yawned, revealing it’s two inch long fangs, then sniffed at the tribal in a curious albeit indifferent manner.

Extending his right hand, Dex introduced himself in a polite manner, “The name’s Mordecai Xavier Fawkes, but you can just call me Dex,” The whole time Dex had been speaking, the man before him seemed more intent on watching his mouth than listening to his words. ’A weird one indeed,’ Dex noted. Continuing he asked, “What’s your name, stranger?”

Charlie Aurora : NCR HQ

Charlie awoke in the same manner he fell asleep, his right arm hanging over the bed and his long large body spread out across the sheets. He stumbled to his feet feeling weak as he did every morning. The day began like any other, a quick breakfast of old canned beans, a shower in the sink that would spurt out small amounts of water just enough to catch a handful every thirty seconds or so, and a few minutes set aside to squeeze his large body into his assassin suit. As he opened his front door he grabbed his sniper rifle from an old umbrella basket and headed out.

The morning sky was bright but a light shade covered the burning sun from reaching Charlies skin. Looking to his right Charlie noticed the NCR HQ and sighed as he headed towards the front door. The large building was a prison in many cases to this man, he never had anything against the NCR but there rules and traditions made his stomach a bit ill.

A squeak came from the hinges of the front door as Charlie stepped into the HQ, making an NCR soldier look up from his post. Placing his sniper in the corner he approached the soldier who hadn't said a word to Charlie. " What do you people have me doing today" he asked trying to tell the soldier he wanted nothing to do with the NCR operation.

Alexis Gonzales - Entering Spear City

Lexy opened her eyes, the morning sun was already blindingly bright, as it shown through the holy roof. Slowly she surveyed the place, only her eyes moved. The two bullet riddled Raiders lay lifeless right where they had taken their last breaths. Lexy had thought the small shack was empty, she was wrong, it costing her that last of her ten millimeter ammo.

Expensive place to stay for nothing but a floor to sleep on. Thought Lexy as she painfully sat up. Her back ached, a combination of sleeping in her combat armor on the floor no less. Raising her arms high above her head, interlocking her fingers, a popping in her shoulders and cracking of her fingers filled the still air. Releasing a sizable yawn while shaking her head, she stood up, tilting her head left and right. More popping sounds followed, releasing tension from her stiff neck.

"Let's see what you boys have in exchange for the bullets I gave you" Lexy spoke to the two corpses.

Picking a bottle of whiskey from the floor, she cracked it open and took a swig. In the corner sat three ammo boxes, placing the whiskey in her sack, she strolled over to have a look. The first one was empty, the second contained six shot gun shells, the third had assault rifle shells inside. Lexy kicked the first two ammo boxes, the shotgun shells scattered across the floor. Scooping up the assault rifle rounds her temper rose. Closing her eyes, looking upward fluttering her hands. Lexy inhaled deeply through her nose, exhaling from her mouth. This was something she did in order not to go into a Ricky Ricardo tangent. Several breaths later, Lexy opened her eyes. There, behind one of the corpses head, a safe. She practically skipped to it.

"Excuse me" Lexy quipped as she pushed the corpses head away with her boot.

Plucking a bobby pin from her hair, she went to work. The lock was easily picked, and for good reason. All that resided in the safe was a few, what appeared to be, the worthless pre-war bills she had found so many of in D.C. Biting her lower lip, her nostrils flared as she flipped through the bills, three tens, and five fives. That was it, Lexy slapped the side of the corpses head with the bills, sending her into a conniption fit. Flailing her arms, leaning over the bodies, cursing them in a Spanish torrent. Shaking the bills at the corpses; and with a sweeping motion, threw them into the air, then spat on the corpses. Kicking one in the leg, she snatched the Chinese pistol and assault rifle off the table and gathered her sniper rifle and her sack.

What the? Noticing the bill that had landed on her sack had NCR printed on it. Pulling the tattered flyer out, holding it in one hand, the bill in the other. Assuming it was more than a coincidence, she folded the bills inside the flyer and stuffed them into her sack.

"Adios muchacho's" said Lexy as she pulled down her black aviator sunglasses and left.

Lexy squinted as the smoke from her cigarette rolled up to her eyes, before a small gust of wind whisked it away. Perched on a large rock, she wiped down her beloved sniper rifle. She had traveled for a couple of hours, the energy she expelled during her fit, along with the hot morning sun left her needing a rest. Putting the rag away, she pulled the rifle up, peering through the scope, she scanned the area ahead. Up in the distance her scope revealed a large structure. It resembled an ancient fort of some sort with its high wooden walls, and towers at each corner.

Must be the place, if I only knew lastnight I was only a few more hours away. Damn, I could have gotten a decent nights rest.

Beads of sweat glistened on Lexy's forehead, she paused, taking the cigarette from behind her ear and lighting it. She walked up to the gate with her usual swagger. A guard with a red furred dog the size of her stood at the gate, the man was speaking with what, had to be a tribal she had heard about.

"Hey ya, nice puppy" Lexy nodded at the massive dog, "Spear City I take it?"

Lexy looked down the walls as she took a drag of her smoke. The walls made her think of pencils, pencils stuck eraser side down in the ground, carefully placed side by side, tips pointing to the sky.

Lexy smirked, "best not drop any matches huh?"

Monk. En route to Spear City.

Monk survayed the woodland around him, scanning the shadows with his one eye, certain that he'd heard something. He was on the right path and should arrive at Spear City soon, but you couldn't be too sure. Just because he was close to an NCR stronghold that was no guarentee of safety. It appeared that he was alone however so he moved along. He produced a pack of pre-war cigarettes from his pocket and lit one with the still smouldering butt of the last one. He took a deep drag of the fresh smoke while he pulled a battered old hip flask from another pocket, Monk blew the blue-gray smoke out of his lungs and took several gulps from the flask. He enjoyed the warm sensation that ran down his throat settled in the pit of his stomach. "Almost empty," he said to himself as he continued walking, "this place had better have a bar that stocks whisky. Or this'll be a damn short stay."

"Freeze profligate." A harsh voice barked out from behind him. Slowly Monk turned to find himself facing two men in tattered legion armour.

"Didn't you boys get the news?" Monk casually asked, taking another drag on his cigarette. "Legion's done. You'd probably do well to turn around and piss off."

One of the legionaries was brandishing a service rifle that he aimed directly at Monk's chest. "Listen you burned freak...."

"Did you reherse this?" Monk interrupted, raising his eyebrow at the man. "Your speach when you confronted me I mean? How's it going?"

"You think that's him?" The other legion remnant asked the first. "Look at his face. It could be him, it could be the burned man."

"Silence." Barked his companion. "You. You stand still or I will fire."

"Think there's a fairly good chance that you'll try to do that anyway." Monk took another drag as he slowly turned and began to walk away.

"I said freeze!" The one with the gun bellowed as he ran in front of Monk and pointed the rifle at his head. "One more step and I will fire."

"Don't want to disappoint you two. But this isn't the first time I've had a gun pointed at me."

"If you don't shut up and stand still, I can guarentee that it will be the last time." The legionary stepped forward and pressed the rifle's muzzle against Monk's forhead. His scarred face twisted into a hideous parody of a grin before his hand shot up and snatched hold of the gun. The legionary squeezed the trigger, but it was too late, the larger man had forced the gun upwards and the bullets passed harmlessly over his shoulder. He snatched the heavy revolver from inside his jacket and pressed it into the eye of the legionary.

"You fool, you wouldn't dare risk the wrath.." The sentance was cut short as Monk squeezed the trigger, spraying blood and brain matter from the gaping hole that appeared in the back of the man's head. As the body crumpled to the floor Monk whirled and shot the second legionary in the knee. He stepped forward and took hold of the man's ankle before continuing on his way.

He continued his hike further along the road and eventually came across a place that immediately reminded him of Jacobstown, the mutant community in the mountains near Vegas. Like Jacobstown, this place was surrounded by huge wooden stakes driven into the ground. "Must be the place. Spear city ain't a bad way to describe it." Monk passed through the main gate into a marketplace. Before him he could see a small group standing round a large dog while talking. A tribal, a guy with an eye patch and a woman with her arm sleeved in a tribal tattoo. He lit another smoke and made his way over to them, dragging the legionary. He dropped it at the feet of the group before facing them. "Howdy folks, names Monk. Found this nearby and thought he might be useful. Where d'you want him?"

Igasho: Marketplace

Igasho grabbed Dex's hand and shook firmly, a custom he was use to.

“Igasho, nice to meet you Dex,” he smiled, glad that he finished the greeting correctly this time.

Igasho studied the mans appearance, he certainly looked dangerous, a man he would like not to make a foe. He had more muscles on his frame than most people who were quite a bit taller than this man and he did not look like he was adverse to fighting, the scar under his eye testified to that.

Igasho was wondering rather or not to ask the man how he lost his eye and how he got that piercing in his ear, but he was cautious because he was afraid he would offend, and Igasho did not want to go toe to toe with this man. Before the words could escape him, he saw Dex's eyes drift.

Igasho turned around and his pulse quickened, he blushed, but his tan made it almost unnoticeable. An attractive women had walked up to them, she was already in the process of talking but Igasho was only able to catch a few words,

“Any matches, huh?”

Matches, why does she want matches? Her smoke stick is already lit.

“No, sorry, I'm all out,” Igasho replied, wrinkling his nose, he hated cigarets. He was also curious on why her hair had such an outrageous color in it, how could that possibly help you blend in with anything?

Igasho was going to turn back to Dex, but he was distracted by a bit of movement. His eyes grew wide in shock, two strange dogs in one day. This one was definitely the stranger of the two, among it's fur were pieces of metal, like it was part machine. This disturbed him greatly, but then a body was heaved in front of him and he quickly forgot about the dog.

He jumped backwards and brought out his spear, pointing it at the still breathing legionnaire. The legion were enemies of his tribe, though they had never really encountered them until a few months before he left. Still he could not help but think that the legionnaire did not deserve this.

“I say we let him kill himself, like a true warrior.”

He silently chastised himself for forgetting the greeting custom,

“I'm Igasho,” he whispered, extending a hand to the horrifyingly scarred stranger.

Charlie Moore, Western Gate

It was a glorious morning, a glorious day, my future and lots of money, oh yes lots of money awaited me in Spear City. My letter to the Commander had been accepted, I was to give him $10,000 Dollars and I would have the bar, the large beautifully crafted bar as my home and place of work. Not to mention handing over that amount of money would definitely make me some friends at city hall and the NCR HQ. As well only one month ago I had shot and killed the scoundrel Jason Gravel who had all this money, money that rightfully belonged to me. But all my happiness was ruined as the Brahmin pulling my cart loaded with supplies stopped moving.

It made its strange grunting, gurgling, mooing noises. The beast wouldn’t move, its fat brown fleshy body just standing there in the middle of the road making ungodly noises and attracting every raider for miles. This was definitely putting my morning in the [censored]ter.

“What the hell is wrong with you, MOVE!!” I bellowed at it, but it wouldn’t go. I went back to it, and grabbed it by the reins and started pulling it forward, with that much encouragement reluctantly it seemed to move forward taking more and more steps, until I discovered the reason as to it being scared. My foot came down hard and didn’t hit the ground. It was right in the chest of a Legion soldier who had apparently had his brains blown out.

I turned back to the Brahmin, “Eh, that’s what was scarring you, well sorry Bessie.” I kept pulling her forward, With the Legion corpse behind us she began to move back at here normal pace and Spear City came into view. As we approached the West Gate, a guard in his tower ran down, I could tell he was fetching the Commander. And so he did appear, the Commander dressed as fancily as he could be, in his best and cleanest military uniform came sporting an entourage of 10 NCR Troopers. He approached right away snatching my hand and gripping it firmly giving me the best and shake and the politest introduction he could.

“It is a pleasure to finally meet you too Commander,”

He responded, ”Ah you must be tired from your long march here, all the way from California, come to the HQ, let us do business there and have drinks shall we?”

And with that we were off, my caravan and I being whisked away by the Commander and ten soldiers. We went down the compound which was basically a walled encampment sticking off to the south of the city. Most of it was filled with tents where the troopers would reside but there was one building backed against the wall. My caravan was hitched up outside, where the troopers stayed guarding it. I quickly found myself puffing a cigar and drinking scotch with the Commander inside his office, and he just kept talking.

“… it’s a lovely place, the main floor has a bar, a kitchen, a greenhouse. The booths are beautiful, real red leather on the seats. Two bedrooms upstairs, a bathroom, the only problem is it isn’t stocked; you’ll have to talk to the merchants to buy any booze. Oh and the men have been dying to have the bar open, they really have nothing to up until now when they are not on duty, you know,” he finished his talk with:

“…so you do have the money don’t you?”

“Yes sir I believe I do,” I said as I procured a small duffle bag. “$10,000, in NCR bills, you could count it if you like”

“Oh we will, I guess you’ll be needing the key,” he said, handing me a small silver key, with the word BAR etched into it. “It’s just south of the west gate the market area is also north hopefully it will serve you very well.”

With that I left, I got my Caravan and we were off, in a matter of minutes we passed through the residential area and were up to the bar. The building was shaped like an L and I left the caravan just outside the main door. I put the key in the lock and turned it, the door swung open and I stepped inside my new home.

Lanthios

In it went, I sunk my machete deep in the Mole Rat flesh. Blood oozed out of it and I couldn’t help but grin, I quickly gathered some sticks and lit a small fire. As I cooked the meat I watched "Spear City" at a distance. There patrols the guards and even the civilians. They would all pay I will have my retribution for Caesar. I grabbed my sharpening stone and slowly ran it along my blade the slithering sound soothed me. Soon your day will come my brethren slaughtered in the canyon, you will be avenged. Taking the meat of the fire I bit into the rubber radiated meat.

The fire was beginning to dim; I lay back on the sand. I must think of a way of entree, I will surly die charging the gate. I could see men entering the camp and leaving some wounded. There was one thing for sure they were not getting supplied from the dam. How long will this settlement last, surely the remnants of my Brethren will notice this. Maybe just maybe they took the dam back, nonsense with the bird. Stop thinking such thoughts the legion is lost we either run or die for what we believe in!

Mordecai Xavier Fawkes Marketplace

The tribal grabbed Dex's hand and shook firmly, a custom he was apparently used to, replying, “Igasho, nice to meet you Dex.”

“Likewise,” Dex stated.

A moment later, Dex noticed movement at the gate. He watched as a young woman entered the town, and as she didn’t appear hostile, it was his job to greet her. She stopped before them and looked at Zeke, "Hey ya, nice puppy" the woman nodded at the massive dog, "Spear City I take it?" the woman smirked, "best not drop any matches huh?"

Dex was a little thrown off, as most people don’t see his hound and think, ‘nice puppy’. ’Either this woman’s got guts, or she’s a total moron.’ He looked at her in a curious manner, and replied, “That’s correct ma’am, this is Spear City. My name’s Mordecai, but please just call me Dex. And you are?”

“No, sorry, I'm all out,” Igasho randomly interjected, wrinkling his nose, and for the outburst he received a strange look from Dex. Dex then watched as a body plopped in front of Igasho, who jumped backwards and brought out his spear, pointing it at the still breathing legionnaire. Dex turned to see who had tossed the body, and found a burned, giant with one eye staring back. The man coolly smoked his cigarette before saying, "Howdy folks, names Monk. Found this nearby and thought he might be useful. Where d'you want him?"

Dex nodded at Monk, then eyed the prisoner before once again taking out his hand radio to call it in, “NCR command, this is Fawkes, do you read? Over”

A second later he heard back, “Fawkes, I swear if you call in one more time today I’ll… I’ll… Oh God, what do you want now? …Over.”

“You can relax, I’m calling in about a live prisoner. A live Legion prisoner. I’m requesting pickup, over,” Dex finished, satisfied that for once the situation would be dealt with quickly. A live Legion soldier was a difficult catch, preferring suicide to capture. He then looked back Monk, though he had become weary of constantly introducing himself, so he only said, “My name’s Dex. Thank you for the capture, I’m sure the NCR will compensate you for your troubles.”

Thirteen wasn't very social but something (well, farming supplies) pulled her from her farmhouse and into town today. She noticed the merchant who tricked the tribal and scowled at him but he just ignored her. She decided to just corner him later. She watched the group before she went about her business. She looked upon the other woman, a bitter smile crossing her lips as she listened to the conversation. Her eyes landed on the dog and she inhaled sharply, flinching. She picked up her bags, balancing them on her hips, and sauntered up to the group and held out nine dollars.

"Here, that merchant took advantage of you, amicus. Uh.. friend," She corrected quickly. "Sorry."

She glanced sideways at the soldier before smiling brightly at them. Feeling uncomfortable she backed up out of arm reach, slowly. She turned and began to walk back to her farm, nervousness turning her stomach over in flip-flops. This is why you don't talk to people... she chastised herself irritably.

Then she heard a new voice and, just out of curiosity, she turned. She dropped the equipment on the ground, rage and fear freezing her to spot. Her eyes were wide as she took in the sight of the Legionnaire. She would never scream so instead she just stood there, shivering. After a few moments, she snapped out of it and began to gather her things. Thirteen, the Legion won't come after you, they're too worried about the NCR... Still, she wasn't content on the Legionnaire seeing her face.

Decimus Malius - Outside of Spear City

The sky watched over Decimus as he himself watched over another man. The man had just chopped in to a molerat, and seemed to be preparing the large animal to eat. The man then cleaned his machete of, something Decimus himself was fond of. Decimus had just recently come across the man. He wore the colors and uniform of the Legion, but in this time of Decimus's life he couldn't quite trust the man yet.

Decimus was positioned behind a small rock, overlooking the man's camp. It was a nice comfortable spot, giving Decimus the feeling fo being safe. A rare feeling for the man, ever since the fall of the Legion. All Decimus could do now was wait. He would not present himself to the man, yet. He wanted to make sure this Legion Remnant had the same intentions as himself.

To burn Spear City to the ground.

Alexis (Lexy) Gonzales - West entrance

The guard looked curiously at her, as did the young Tribal. The tan young man, seemed to be intently staring at her mouth. Lexy shifted, putting her left hand on her hip, pushing up her sunglasses.

“That’s correct ma’am, this is Spear City. My name’s Mordecai, but please just call me Dex. And you are?” Dex informed and greeted Lexy.

“No, sorry, I'm all out,” the Tribal said quietly, wrinkling his nose.

"Wha?" Lexy shook her head, "out of what? What are you talking about?" She tried not to get immediately frustrated at the young man, as he seemed innocent. She looked at Dex, "Alexis Gonzales, people call me Lexy."

Out of nowhere, a body dropped right next to them, creating a small plume of dust. The tribal jumped back, grabbing his spear. Lexy quickly rested her hand on one of her nine millimeter pistols. Stepping away from the shadow as she turned, a brute of a man, who was seriously scarred stood. You need an eye patch to there buddy.

"Howdy folks, names Monk. Found this nearby and thought he might be useful. Where d'you want him?"

“I say we let him kill himself, like a true warrior.” The tribal blurted out, after which he seemed embarrassed, “I'm Igasho,” he whispered, extending a hand to the horrifingly scarred stranger.

Quite an introduction, "I wasn't aware we could drag a friend along" Lexy said with a smirk, she studied the man lying on the ground, his leg had been mangled by a gunshot. She dropped her cigarette and stamped it out, now kneeling by the wounded man, "skirts are for women, I'll just take that."

Without much protest, she was able to remove the metal skirt right there in front of Dex, Monk, and Igasho. Dex was chatting something into a radio. Standing up, now sporting a smug grin, "what? Its kinda cute." Extending her hand to Igasho then to Monk, "Alexis Gonzales, call me Lexy."

Behind Igasho, Lexy watched as a man with the craziest dog she had ever seen approach. What in the hell is that? These western people are off their rockers, it is interesting though.

"So, got a bar in town?" Said Lexy as she composed herself, pulling her sunglasses back down.

Monk. Marketplace.

“I say we let him kill himself, like a true warrior.” The tribal declared, stepping back and levelling his spear at Monk's captive. He paused for a moment then turned to face the huge man. “I'm Igasho,” he whispered, extending a hand. Monk took hold of the fellows hand a gave it a firm shake, his features twisting into a horrifying smile.

"Good to meet you Igasho." He pointed at the legion soldier. "That's no true warrior there though, all he did was scream like a stabbed bighorner when I shot him. Didn't try to escape or nothing. But I'd sooner that we don't just let him top himself now, I dragged him a pretty long way."

He turned his attention back to Eyepatch who was busy talking into his radio's mouthpiece. “You can relax, I’m calling in about a live prisoner. A live Legion prisoner. I’m requesting pickup, over,” He faced Monk and said, “My name’s Dex. Thank you for the capture, I’m sure the NCR will compensate you for your troubles.”

"Well compensation always sounds like a good thing." He grinned. "Though actually I'm looking to get out of that kind of work. I hear you've a need for skilled workers, well I know my way around most weapons and can do a fair job of fixing 'em up. You reckon you might have work for me here?"

Beside him the woman, who introduced herself as Lexy, pulled her sunglasses down and asked, "So, got a bar in town?"

"HA. Now that sounds like a plan." Monk produced his hip flash. "I'm almost dry. Tell you what little lady, once I'm done here. How about you find the bar and I'll buy the first round?"

Charlie Aurora MarketPlace

Charlie starred down from his six foot post as he liked to call it, the little man before him looking through papers. Suddenly a voice came over the radio just loud enough for Charlie to hear. "NCR command, this is Fawkes, do you read? Over” said a brute sounding man on the other end. The small mans eyebrows clinched together in a ball as he snatched the microphone to reply back. “Fawkes, I swear if you call in one more time today I’ll… I’ll… Oh God, what do you want now? …Over.” the man said slamming the mic down on his rather large desk.

Fawkes? is that not the man they call Dex, a legend in many parts of the wasteland.

A second later the rough voice came over the radio again “You can relax, I’m calling in about a live prisoner. A live Legion prisoner. I’m requesting pickup, over,”. Charlie felt rage pierce through his body as the words were spoken. "Well what ya now, In all my time working I've never seen a Legion prisoner" said the soldier placing the mic down once again and picking up his papers. "Now we must find you a job quick so I can go handle this situation" The man said standing up and showing to Charlie he couldn't be more then four foot nine. "Don't worry I got this one hotshot" Charlie chuckled out as he turned and left the building, sniper in hand.

As he approached the large group of people surrounding the Legion prisoner he noticed how odd they all looked. A Tribal man standing with his spear out, A young lady that seemed attractive but dangerous and possibly insane at the same time, a man holding the ankle of the legion scum making it obvious he was the one who had brought this man, and of course a great man in his eyes Dex. "What is this a party, we shouldn't be so keen on attracting attention to ourselves" he said approaching Dex. "I've been sent for pickup of this....." he looked down at the pathetic prisoner "scum".

Lanthios

I was aware of the man behind me he thought he was hidden. Instead his shadow stretced along beside me. I noticed he was wearing a legion uniform being a Praetorian guard. I knew how to identify the rank and battle scars of a soldier. I continued to sharpen my machete then I glanced at my bag. It was unzipped and I could see the flag I used to stand by. How the urged to resist putting it up on the hill pressed me.
I couldn’t be so foolish I need retribution Creaser demands it. His words still echoed through my head.

My Legion obeys me, even unto death. Why? Because they live to serve the greater good, and they know of no alternatives.

I whispered, "ave" trues the Caesar. I looked back down at the shadow the man was still there. I decided it was time to meet this legion.

I stood up and faced the man who also got out of cover. I spoke strong and with wrath. "Amicus" Are you a comrade of the flag? Speak or you will meet the end of my blade!" I stood firm aware that this man could attempt to run or attack. I kept my hand away from my machete knowing my Ballistic fist was ready.

Igasho: Marketplace

Igasho decided he didn't like Lexy very much. Maybe it was the sunglasses, or the smoking, or taking a trophy from a kill that wasn't hers. That really ticked him off, it wasn't her kill and the man wasn't even dead yet, despicable. He tried remembering that these people had different customs, so he still shook her hand and smiled. It was hard for him to actually get angry anyone and he already felt himself wondering why he was so mad in the first place, petty really.

He only caught half of Monk's explanation but it seemed like the Legionnaire deserved it, Ishago sheathed his spear and watched as Dex called in the capture on a device Ishago would never be able to use.

“There should be bar near hear actually, a little bit above the marketplace. Don't know if it's open yet,” Ishago responded, happy that he could actually answer something, even if it was because it was the only thing the guards talked about during his shift. He wasn't even sure what a bar was, sounded great from what he heard from the guards.

He turned to leave, as the place was getting crowded, and almost bumped into a small girl. Woman actually, she appeared to be middle-aged.

“Amicus, uh...friend. Sorry.”

He looked down and saw some more of those paper slips in her hand, it was extended towards him so he gently took them, when he had stored the money and looked back, she was already walking away. He was wondering what to do when she turned around and froze, looking past him. All her of items silently crashed to the ground and she stood there paralyzed.

Igasho rushed over to her, thinking with her heart was wrong. He had seen some of his fellow tribesmen act the same way, right before crashing to the ground and never getting up again. But by the time he got to her, she was already picking her things up, so he just decided to help with the little she had left. Her recognized some of the equipment, always wanting to be a rancher, but that was for the women of the tribe.

“You all right? In body I mean, not spiritually. Well spiritually too I guess. Unless you don't believe in the spirits...”

Igasho cringed on the inside, he hardly socialized within the tribe but he thought he had been doing a good job, but he could tell he was just making it awkward.

“Well never mind, I'm Igasho of house number one, nice to meet you. I'll just be going now, thanks for the paper money...I can't read.”

And with that he turned back to the group and noticed that two more men had joined in, one of them with the machine dog, curiosity got the best of him and he walked back to them. He tapped the owner of the dog on the shoulder, a man with short black hair and when he turned around he saw that a scar had narrowly missed taking out his eye.

“Igasho, pleasure to meet you. If you don't mind me asking, where did you get this dog thing? I've never seen one in my life, is it actually dog? Or is it those things...those things....Machines! Is it machine?

Mordecai Xavier Fawkes Marketplace

"Well compensation always sounds like a good thing." Monk grinned. "Though actually I'm looking to get out of that kind of work. I hear you've a need for skilled workers, well I know my way around most weapons and can do a fair job of fixing 'em up. You reckon you might have work for me here?"

Dex’s eye looked up and to the right as he thought about it, before finally remembering, “I believe the NCR was looking to outsource for the new armory quartermaster. It’d give you a paying job and a place to stay. You should ask about it at the NCR headquarters. If you follow Third Street to it’s end and turn right, you can’t miss the compound.”

After the Dex gave the brief directions, Lexy, pulled her sunglasses down and asked, "So, got a bar in town?"

"HA. Now that sounds like a plan." Monk added, producing a hip flask. "I'm almost dry. Tell you what little lady, once I'm done here. How about you find the bar and I'll buy the first round?"

“The bar is directly south of here,” Dex explained, “Though it wasn’t open last I checked. I believe a gentleman who arrived recently was of a mind to open it up, though I’m unsure what progress has been made,” he shrugged and looked over at Igasho who was chatting with what was at first glance a young girl, but upon further inspection, she was obviously much older, possibly even older than Dex was. She seemed shaken, and Dex was about to go see what was wrong, but someone else caught his eye.

"What is this a party, we shouldn't be so keen on attracting attention to ourselves" he said approaching Dex. "I've been sent for pickup of this....." he looked down at the wounded legionnaire "scum".

Dex offered his hand, saying, “It’s nice to see a timely response for once, the name’s Dex, and you are?” He then pointed to Monk, “The large man behind me is the one who captured the legionnaire., so you should discuss this with him,” then Dex saw an NCR trooper running towards him, and he grinned, “So, it would seem I’m finally being relieved. The NCR really needs to speed up their reaction time.”
