Afterlife?

Post » Thu Jun 30, 2011 4:46 am

So I understand that there are multiple takes on the gods from different races... I've been digging through UESP and The Imperial Library and yet i haven't found anything mentioning an afterlife... I was wondering if anyone could help shed some light on the subject or what some speculations are... Also I should mention that I am particularly looking for some Dunmer religions views on it seeing as how that's who the main character is... All help is appreciated

Thanks

as far as I know there is no real afterlife. when you die your soul gets recycled. I can't remember the exact details, I don't know alot about lore.

Hmm well it just seems to be a realm where magicka originates and souls who aren't earthbound become recycled... Also the gods who fled before creation are trapped there... Also the Aedra might be there... Nothing about an afterlife

The gods who fled are probably in aetherious. The dreamsleeve is supposed to be where mortal souls or maybe their energy is recycled and placed back into a new body.

The elderscrolls afterlife may then be whatever is experienced there. I don't know if the spirits retain their identity there or are sort of mixed together before rebirth.

This is a http://www.ericmailloux.com/Web/Nostalgie/Jeux/Jeux/Images/Etch-a-sketch.jpg, and http://www.jitterbuzz.com/toyfil/etch.jpg.

In short, it's a place where mortal souls go to be wiped clean of all memories and experiences, and the blank slate mortal soul is stored till their lucky number is drawn. This is different from daedra, whose memories and experiences are NOT wiped clean, and still remember every single moment of life and death. The problem, the waters of Oblivion remove all sensation, save for a constant gnawing and biting cold that drives the daedroth soul mad. This is a big reason why daedra follow the daedra princes.
