Trouble with Morrowind

Post » Wed Aug 26, 2009 5:46 am

After a long break my wife decided to play Morrowind again. Her machine is running Windows 7 Home edition. Game installed fine and, after some initial problems, most of the mods she installed worked as well.

First problem come with Morrowind.ini file: she has full administrator rights but she can't enable screenshots in MW.ini because when she tries to save edited .ini file she gets "Access denied" error. I have tried to work around the problem by copying original .ini file, enabling screenshots in this copy and replacing original .ini file with new one (re-naming and keeping the original .ini file for safety). After all this when she presses "Play" (with all mods unticked) game starts to load but than hangs up. When "Data Files" is pressed the strangest of error messages appears: "LoadTESInfo() in constructor failed with error: The operation completed successfully. Continue running executables. Cancel is Yes to All.

I have restored the original .ini file. But game still refuses to load just as before.

Any help will be greatly appreciated!

The easiest thing to do is just http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/781497-vistawindows-7-problems/page__p__11352753#entry11352753

Or, you can also just turn off your User Account Control (UAC)

Either option will by-pass many problems that arise when using the default location in the Program Files.
