wait... you found vanilla oblivion more satisfying than modded oblivion? that makes no sense to me whatsoever! may i ask what mods you tried?

well with the part that "Mods made me appreciate Oblivion less in vanilla " quite true.. once you go with mods can't go back to vanilla or at least enjoy it as much

Probably some mod that will increase draw distance of everything, and if the AI is the same as on the video we saw with the bandits some increased AI awareness mod or smt like that and ofc some mods about armor and weapons if they are not too op.

A House mod, most likely. Maybe something that makes carrots have weight too.

One Vanilla playthrough, though.

In a nutshell I will install any mod that appeals to me, the more the mod offers what I use most the quicker it will be installed.

Most Likely
Better UI (if needed)
Improved meshes and Textures (I like upping the visuals) for anything and everything. Books, armor, weapons, clothers, ground, skin, ect
Improved weather/atmosphere (I also enjoy more versatile enviroments and background sounds)

Gameplay changing mods?
Need to play the game first. I don't change anything about gameplay until I experience what the dev has created then mod out what I don't like

Mods I will work on creating myself

  • Interactive Book Leveling Ever disliked to ability to level up by simply opening a book without even reading it's contents? This mod encourages players to immerse themselves into the literary world of Skyrim by delaying the level up notification when opening a book. Allowing time for the player to read the books contents before knowing whether that knowledge has leveled the character up.
  • Real Time Book Reading This mod removes time standing still while you read a book. Need to meet someone at a certain time and hate just using the "wait" function to pass the time? Now you can read some books and time will pass normally in game.
  • Advanced Map Markers When you get coordinates for a location you have never been to your map places a map marker in the general location. This will point your character in the right direction but will not pinpoint the exact location forcing you to do a little exploration once you get in the vicinity. Once your discover the actual location then the map marker updates to the exact location. Wishes: Locations inside cities are exact. Locations outside of city are general. When people are map markers it only displays their house or city.
  • 3rd Person Camera for Horse Riding Do you prefer to play in 1st person but find horseback riding looks best in 3rd person? This mod will switch to 3rd person view whenever you mount a horse and revert back to 1st person when you dismount.

I probably won't use any mods besides one that fix really stupid things(like spell deleting in Oblivion) for a few months.

I know this is weird coming from a Linux user but I hate using experimental things. I'd hate trying out a mod that either broke in an official patch or was glitchy and suddenly stopped being updated.

UI mods to start with since that will be more or less required. Then make a custom house mod of my own. Then item/armor/body mods as they trickle in. Then after some time we'll start seeing overhauls, unofficial patches, new adventures, new spells, etc. Long after that we'll start seeing graphics updates mods to add in. By then I'll have a huge mod list just like I do for OB.

Depends what Skyrim needs really, but i'm guessing i'll look for some more character creation ability. There are some hyper talented people who make hair/skin/eyes and everything else or presets. I generally svck at making characters, and these things are a God sent. I'm going to [censored] the "Centered third person view" search feature on mods sites like crazy, personaly i HATE the third person cameras that games are using now with a passion. Why would anyone play with the camera off center? It totally screws up my moment ability and makes everything awkward..

Other than that the normal early mods, weapons, armor, clothing, a few locations. Big mods that tweaks everything for the non-casual player will not come for a half year or so.
