An epic game to play while you wait for Skyrim

Post » Thu Jun 30, 2011 12:18 am

Oh god.. I saw interviews of that game during E3. The Art Director literally made the main character HIMSELF! If you look at the guy who was presenting the game, and you look at the main character, they look exactly the same, they even have the same hair. This guy literally made a game so he could be like "yeah im badass!!" and hes literally a mix of Solid Snake (or more like Big Boss) and Wesker from Resident Evil 5 times 1000. Im totally not gonna play it just because the director is a complete [censored] who wants to make himself in a video game kicking ass.

Honestly, I don't care about the director. It's Deus Ex, so I'll play it.

The Witcher 2 all the way, best game graphics I've ever seen, great story and voice acting, several choices that affect the outcome of the game, just overall I would call it a contender for game of the year. And now that its coming out for 360, I would say its definitely a contender. There is a ton of stuff to do in this game, and if your computer can handle it, please get this game!

I have that game and i got about 20 some hours into it and ive lost all interest. I might end up going back to it, but i dont know. The voice acting seems a little hacked, so you cant even tell what emotions the characters are supposed to be showing at times, and it seems a little over the top with the [censored] and [censored]. Now dont get me wrong, i like boobs in games every now and then(duke nukem, conan were both good examples, but they arent really 'serious' games), but for a serious game like the witcher - come on lets keep it real. The game itself seems like they've spent alot of time on it though(unlike Mass effect 2 or any call of duty) and i have to respect them for that, because not many developers spend time on their games now a days. Maybe im just not in the right mindset for the witcher, and im sure ill give it another go here in a bit.

Srsly?

There are several old and new titles you can play as you wait for Skyrim.

In no particular order:

Fable (1997): A dungeon crawler with a deep storyline. Many twists and fun can be had. Find it on Abandonia as it is now free.

System Schock Series: If you dont know just look it up. EXCELLENT games. Must be purchased. not cheap in the wrong channels.

Arx Fatalis: Interesting combat mechanic, with an alright storyline. Can be found on Steam nowadays.

The obvious Arena/Daggerfall/Battlespire/Redguard/Morrowind/Oblivion. Nuff said.

Omikron - Nomad Soul: Wickedly horrible controls, but one of the first games to pioneer a 'breathing world' where your choices bear some consequences. Try Amazon.

Gothic series up to 3/Risen as the unofficial 4th game. Great series with clunky combat up until the 3rd game, but then you get game breaking AI issues. Risen is what PB was working on before JoWood cut ties.

Two Worlds I: Good loot system, not without its bugs though....

Divine/Beyond Divinity, Divinity II DKS: First 2 are diablo clones, great games otherwise. Div2 is a franchise update and greatly underrated. Get ALL of em.

Diablo/II: Get these too. Dont ask. You should already know these are great.

Terraria: NOT 2D minecraft but similar. 10 bucks. Great time waster.

Minecraft: Like open world Sandbox? Here ya go... Last I heard it was 20 bucks.... Price just keeps increasing... Like gasoline!

Ill stop there. Should hold most of you over until Skyrim anyways....

Trying to play Just Cause 2 but i'm still on XP. Guess that 7.99 deal I got for the game was just an investment until I get my new PC. (I'd upgrade my current one to 7 but it's practically about to die).
