I've got the Game of the Year edition too and i haven't even entered the shivering isle for ANYTHING.
Ok just as the topic says it crashes when i exit a building when the load screen bar is complete and the black screen appears, i can hear every sound of the outdoors like if i'm in a city i can hear footsteps and birds and wind music yadda yadda but the black screen stays for a few seconds and then oblivion shuts down without any error message and only the "Oblivion has stopped working" message from windows 7. I've reinstalled the game so many times it's starting to piss me off,
The only mods i've used are
LoRises Cyrodill complete 1-4
Elaborate eyes
Nighteye shader replacement
ánd Tamriel Npcs revamped.
i used to have more mods but i have reduced them to only the ones i really need since the game crashes.
When i uninstall and delete every remaining file rom my pc and reinstall it "mod free" and load the game and exit a building again it STILL crashes i have had to make new games from scratch "Starting from my prison cell again and Uriel's death" for it to work properly but still in 2 or 4 days after playing just fine and crash free when i save my game outside and try to load it one day after it crashes, and when i save inside a building and THEN exit it "Outdoors or inside a city" anywhere that isn't inside a building it crashes.
I've found that turning off the Distant Landscape fixes the crash problem but when i turn it on again "inside and oustide the game" it crashes.
I'd really like to play with the distant landscape on, so i am able to see building from far "like fortresses and farms and inns" so i won't lose the inmersion feeling.
My basic specs are below the required 1gb of ram nvidia and stuff, but in all honesty i've found posts of oblivion crashing with people who DO have all the required specs and eve ones that go beyond.
