What is your all time favorite roll to play?

I am new so I'm on my first playthrough. Some of you I imagine have played this game over and over.

I was wondering what your favorite roll was while playing Fallout 3, what path do you choose or what path is your favorite to choose. What one benefits you more, also which way is a better gameplay experience in your opinion, how can you get more out of the game.

Personally I like to be a good guy. Even more than that I love looting, I spend hours just roaming the wasteland looking for new and better things, meeting people, killing people that don't want to be friends, taking from the dead. Anyway just would like to get your opinion so maybe I can try it out next playtrough.

I am playing this game as if it were me running around. Decisions I make are ones I would actually make as a person. Next time I will go against all my morals and just destroy and hurt anyone or anything in my path. Even though it's just a game I have a feeling I am going to get that feelig like I actually am doing something wrong. This game is so personal, I love games where the character doesn't have a voice, when your all one at night searching the terrain you actually feel the feeling of being alone. Is this just me or do other people experience this as well?

I usually play as a good guy. I even refrain to steal things in the game, even if no one is looking, because I think it is wrong.

Recently I started a new game and I have this evil character that I created just to explore aspects of the game I've never experienced. And I must say that sometimes it is hard for me to play as an evil character, because there are some emotionally disturbing situations in the game.

I have to agree with you, FO3 is a game with a lot of atmosphere and it really conveys that feeling of being alone in a desolate world.

It's something I look for in a game. Don't get me wrong I love a bad ass character like kratos or another great video game persona. But for some reason I really like a character that doesn't have a voice, makes me feel like I'm the character and that's when I get totally into the game.

That's what I loved Dead Space, you feel alone in the dark hallways of the ship. It made it more of a scarier ride. That's why I was not a big fan of Dead Space 2 because Isaac had voice and a face so to speak. Fallout 3 captures this feeling perfectly. If bump into someone in megaton by accident I actually turn my guy around and start to walk back to them to apologize just like I would if I was waking my dog and bumped into someone but then I realize oh wait I can't apologize they are not real.

I hate the dark in real life. I'm 30 years old and I'm actually scared of it. Yes I know pathetic. It's funny because I'm always hitting the select button and waiting a few hours till the sun comes up. That may be a really stupid to some people but it does show how good the game actually is.

Quick question do you know how I can get my wieght capacity up? Are there drugs or things I can do to get it up. Either for a period of time or for good? I love looting, it's by fat my favorite thing to do and I often find myself maxed out having to go back and store or sell so I can return to tr area I was in. Also missions take me forever because I'm usually full about a 3rd into it then I have to stop to unload what I have. I just don't want to get rid of anything I'm carrying.

Raising your strengh can do it, via the perk that lets you +1 to any SPECIAL attribute or the chem buffout. Alternatively you can wear armor that has strength bonuses or use the strong back perk to add to your weight capacity.

Yeah, the wierd thing about Fallout 3 is that just playing through the game as intended doesn't really get that old. It's kinda like a perfect pop culture story. You come out of the vault, get to know the people in Megaton, set your house up, raid the nearby ruins for caps. Later you go out to find more powerful weapons, you start exploring the dangerous tunnels and streets of DC, you meet some of the more interesting settlements...

I think it's because deep down, we all think the simple life of scavenging and selling, lying back with a nuka cola and watching the sun set looks attractive when compared with our own busy lives.

I usually play as a good guy. Tried the evil route, but it didn't last. My heart just wasn't in it. I agree with that alone feeling too. When you're up high on a hill or overpass and you see the wasteland stretching out all around you and the wind is whistling, and you see all the ruins. Or when you're deep in the maze of the metro, and you have absolutely no idea what is around the corner, or how long it's going to be before you get out again, or where you'll end up. I usually play without companions, so it's me against the world. The way some of the NPCs interact with you kind of adds to the lonely feeling. Go and talk to the generic Megaton Settlers. It fits that Bethesda calls your character the Lone Wanderer.
