so Ive decided to try to make a map of all of Fallout's locations real life equivalents.

I decided to start in the midwest since I know EVERYONE loves that area and have run into a couple snags.

Try to find the real life equivalents of

Canyon City, which is south and to the east of Scott City Kansas

Newton, which is between and to the north of Scott City and Great bend Kansas

and Buena vista which is south and to the east of Cheyenne Mountain but more south then east


I have what i think are probable locations for each of these but i want to know what yall think.

Note the real life version don't use the same names.

I found a number of places in New Vegas to be based on real life places like Fortifaction Hill, Goodsprings, Mt. Charleston, Searchlight and the rollarcoaster at Primm just to name a few. One of my new goals in life is to go to Primm in real life and ride that Rollarcoaster.

i already have all the new vegas areas down.

Well the freeway in New Vegas is kind of at the right spot... The 15 runs to the left of the strip if you are facing North. They kind of got the directions right the areas don't resemble southern Nevada in the least bit. Like lake mead for example the mountains and the such are all out of place. Being that I'm from Southern Nevada I really don't feel like home in this game and its a more made of version of the area than really resembling the area. But you know its a game its fiction so I'm not upset or on a rant or anything. I mean I used to live near Reno also and New Reno doesn't look like Reno except for the sign.

But anyways this thread is more about tactics locations good luck finding the locations and figuring what is where.

Bet you will never guess where New Vegas is :biggrin:

Also, in the case of fallout 3 then map of DC is all messed up so it is hard to get an accurate map.
