One piece armour vs as many armours as possible

Post » Fri Jul 01, 2011 6:29 am

If it came down to weather you would rather have more armours variaty at the cost of the armours being one peace item what will your choice be?

I would rather have Graves & Cuirass as two separate items becouse it ads more choice and customisation and becouse it just seems weird being able to wear boots, gloves and helmets of different designes but the rest of your body can only be one way, it reduces the variaty by at least 50%. And what if I want a character ho is always topless to show of his scars and tatoos? Two peace everything and star doing that for fallout aswell, but not for the powerarmours.

Poll's bit biased, but the idea is okay. It made me laugh pretty hard too. :P

I lean more toward having separate armor / clothing pieces. Having a separate slot for every item actually gives more variety because you can mix and match things for greater customization and an almost endless number of combinations. I wasn't distraught about having only a couple of clothing / armor slots in FO3, so I wouldn't completely discount the game if something similar was implemented in TES (even though I would die a little inside), but it would have been nice to have greater control over your PC's look in FO. Besides, you couldn't enchant things in FO, so it wasn't as big of a loss as it would be if they did something similar in TES.

A thought. The enchanting thing has been one of the biggest complaints re. the combination of greaves and the cuirass. If, however, the enchantment value of that one piece of armor was proportional to the combined values of the two pieces in Oblivion, wouldn't that fix everything? (from a gameplay point of view, any way, not customization).

I like the morrowind system, where for some pieces you had left/right, and you had more types of armour. So, you can look all awesome with a single pauldron, and pants and greaves, etc. More armour is good, but too much could be a pain too, because it would be equiped piece by piece.
