I don't know. Bethesda has no reason to get rid of Fallout considering how much success Fallout 3 had. I'm pretty sure it was just a hoax. Duck and Cover is the only place with this information, and other big sites are pretty convinced that it's not true. There's already articles denouncing this as fraudulent. I'm gonna have to trust the majority on this one. Apparently whoever came up with this one didn't realize that April Fool's Day is tomorrow.

Oh and there is confirmation it is not an April Fools' Joke. This info is real. At the end it just says April Fools so the Bethesda fans don't get mad. I found this out from a very good source.

Well, at least Obsidian plans on making more like a pen and paper RPG rather than these first person graphics intensive shooters that really impress no one. (At least as sure as unit sales and awards are an indicator.)

As the saying goes "It's five O'clock somewhere."

In other words, it's April first in other parts of the world.

And yes, it's an "early" April Fool's joke :)

I really don't think anything more needs to be said.
