Conjuration Magic -On a New Level-

Post » Fri Jul 01, 2011 10:38 am

First off, a big hello to everyone in the community! :)

This is my first post/poll so please be gentle. ;) Anyways the point of this thread is to think of other ways that Conjuration might be implented. Now Im aware that Im probably thinking too big and unrealistic. But I thought wouldnt it be neat, and helpful if we were able to summon things aside from creatures and weapons? My first thought was having the spells to summon food or drink. It would be helpful especially if you've run out of potions and you are in dire need of a quick boost. Another thought I had was the ability to summon a house or tent. The purpose? Well again maybe your health is low and you've just want a safe place to rest and relax without having to travel out of your way. Now the houses would be complicated to make I understand, and obviously they wouldnt stay for every, but still I thought it would be a cool idea. One last thought I had was the spell to conjure a wall or bubble around you. Temporarily protecting you from attacks and spells. Just a idea I thought I should share with you all, let me know what you guys think!

Welcome to the forums! Hope you enjoy your stay here! I registered about 2 years or so ago but I never posted much until the past two or so weeks. Most of the discussions here are pretty fairly nice and intelligent, I'd say.

In regards to your poll, I'd say no to the first two options, but I think summoning some form of protection device (even if it's just a unique daedric shield of sorts) would be cool. Personally, I always have wished that the bound/summoned armor and weapons could be summoned in more unique forms. Like instead of all bound armor being the same, I think it would be cool if there was a bound armor spell that would summon a daedric sword that would do fire damage, frost damage, or some other bound weapon that had a unique spell or effect of some kind. That might just be me, though.

Oh, and I think a daedric version of a wallmaster from the legend of Zelda would be cool, but of course done in TES fashion!

I dislike the first two options, but I think the "wall of protection" thing seems pretty cool - reminds me of 'The Witcher 2.'

By the way, happy early birthday. Also, this is kind of a random question, but are you from the UK? You look like your from there for some reason. lol

Considering that the school of conjuration is the summoning of things from oblivion, these things just dont make sense in most aspects. Unless you wanted to summon some kind of Malacath skin tent or Mehrunes Dagon broken tower for a house, then no. I suppose you could summon different ingredients from the different realms but that would be kinda lame. And although the protection spell would seem to work with the already implemented summon shield spell, that kind of spell already falls under alteration or the new magical warding spells of restoration or whatever school they're in now

All of these spells would make much more since in alteration, conjuration is purely the summoning of Daedric items and creatures, as well as various undead.

Unless your summoning a "wall of bones" or something along those lines I don't see this working lore wise.

Greater power of conjuration, use once a day once, spell - undead army - summon as many skeleton warriors as you have mana for. 1 per 10 pts or something. Epic undead army at your finger tips!!

Ps I want them to come up out the ground not just appear. I hope the summoning animation/effect is better. Things like az simple as appearing can seem quite wanky if not done right.
