My fantastic Morrowind demise

Post » Mon Jul 04, 2011 8:07 pm

I recently reinstalled everything and started playing again. I'm not sure which mod adds butterflies (something in Morrowind Overhaul?), but I'd never seen one before and got quite excited seeing one flying out of Seyda Neen.

I follwed it for a while. Then I may have accidentally swung my sword at it.

Well, it turns out that butterflies in Morrowind bite. And in my determination to find out whether it had any useable ingredients, it bit me quite a lot. In fact, to death.

And I thought 'death by scrib' was humiliating...

Other than when I first started playing the game and died picking fights with guards and such, I don't die very often anymore. When I do, it's usually from falling (jumping) off of someplace very high, reflect spells sending my effects back at me, and enemies using warhammers/battleaxes that keep knocking me down.

A modded butterfly is pretty bad though...
