After looking at these, Skyrim seems to be the same kind of graphical jump from Oblivion as Daggerfall was from Arena.

Here's my anolysis of my favorite comparison picture.

Seeing that picture of the fall forest makes me feel great and increases my hype for the game. Because it makes you think of every little detail as if it were happening ingame. Like example... the trees dynamically brushing in the wind, beautiful lighting, each tree looks completely different to each other, and you can pretty much hear birds tweeting in your head and picture exactly what's happening next. The realism in that picture astounds me.

In comparison you can notice the major draw distances of micro organisms in Oblivion, and how small the draw distance is, which did bug me alot. Mainly when shooting something like a Bandit guarding an entrance to a mine from far away, then when you loot him it's hard to find his body when all the tall grass loads up.

In Skyrim there will be draw distances (you notice it in the E3 demo when he walks out into the tundra with some giants and mammoths) but it looks like it's much bigger, in that fall forest picture it pretty much impossible to notice. It would most likely be noticeable in wide open areas (like Tundras) but it hopefully it shouldn't bother me.
