Game Stutters Like Crazy for about 5 Seconds In Some Cases?

Post » Mon Jul 04, 2011 12:25 pm

Hi, I', not sure if this has been posted or not or if anyone has encountered similar issues... so I'm sorry if this is a double post...

Well since 1.9 with the high definition pack and DX11 pack, I can run the game really smooth, but would stutter like crazy in some cases, like one time in city hall 2nd floor, one guy's grenade shattered the ceiling glass, everything would stutter for like 5 seconds, and it felt like the frame rate was about 5 (didn't run Afterburner to check). I remember encountering the same issue once in Skyline when someone called an Orbital Strike.

Does anyone have this issue? This does not happen every time there's an Orbital Strike or glass shattering, so I'm not so sure about what really triggers this stuttering.

Many thanks for any kind advice and help in advance!

I would monitor your temps. This game makes GPUs run REALLY HOT!

I would monitor your vram. Run afterbuner. When you get the stutter, I'm guessing vram is full. I'm also trying to isolate stutter that looks driver-related (nvidia 275.xx). Playing with AF via the control panel just before the match starts drops vram usage dramatically. (vram goes high during the screen with the wire-mesh buildings and I go to control panel during the next loadout selection screen ) Doesn't matter if I disable AF or max it, just changing the setting drops about 200-300mb (!) depending on the map.

Hi thanks for all your replies. Actually when I said I didn't check the frame-rate using Afterburner, I did check it before that my GPU is running fine. I'm using a GTX480 O'Ced @ 835MHz (1.125v) cooled with Gelid Icy Vision Rev.2. The temp. is around 68-71 running Crysis 2 without Vsync. The VRAM is utilized at roughly 70%, so that part is fine, too... >"<

Frame-rate-wise is about 90fps...

I'm wondering if this is an issue from this new 1.9 patch?
