Official Q&A Thoughts, Opinions and Conclusions

I'm as excited as ever for Skyrim! Although I was disappointed that fewer armor pieces were confirmed, they're reasoning was good for it and I'm excited for more armor designs! (even if I can't wear a skirt over my greaves)

I liked medium armor and intervention spells as well, but Im more than happy to lose those options if it means I can have friends and family in Skyim! I know a lot of people are grumpy about marriage but I'm sooo glad they added it. (i have no doubt they will execute the romance part of the game with more maturity than Fable)

Although some nostalgic options may not be there, it sounds to me like Skyrim will blow Oblivion out of the water in terms of immersion with the changes they have made.

Not to mention non-squishy-face people! With tons of customization! Body size, tattoos, scars.. :D

They skirted the were-beast/vampire question, but why would they leave them out? The lore is there and they've been successfully executed in past TES games, so Im not worried about it. It's good to leave some things a mystery :]

I can't wait for this game! (If only they would announce a collectors edition!)

my overall conclusion..corners were cut and some stuff streamlined to accommodate cross-platform compatibility and porting. The reason i say this is because the reasons they gave are just not valid imo.

Some quotes..

Todd: 64-bit specific exe? Not at this time. As far as UI, it visually looks the same across the platforms, but the controls are entirely different.

This leads me to believe that the console version and pc version will be identical, nothing special about the pc version any visual advantages will depend on your system basically.

Matt: We get much better visual results combining those pieces, and it renders a lot faster too, so we can put more people on screen, so that was an easy tradeoff for us.

again this might be a problem for console users, never had such problems with PC's in morrowind or oblivion or any other graphically intensive game on my 'above average' pc. So that change and omission was done specifically to accommodate console rendering.

Im hoping in the end we gain a little and lose a little, though some of those are pretty big..

I really liked the fan interview. When I saw "There are non-lethal bar fights aswell. I love those.", I was jumping and cheering inside. :)

The poll options don't quite say how I feel. I want to play the game Bethesda wants to make. After that, I'll know how it felt. If I became immersed, if I had fun, nothing that's going on right now in these forums will mean much of anything. I hope everyone can find their happy place. :) It's a game.

reread the Q&A and noticed this. this just ticks me off to no end. i was able to run AEVWD, qarns texture packs, the oblivion npc addon mod (forgot what it was called), body and face replacers along with weapon and armor texture replacers. all with a 3 year old PC. they are saying the only way they could get more than the paultry number of npcs on console was to combine armor.

Not everyone owns a pc with more then 512mb of memory. Thats why the pc could handle it. BTW don't blame the consoles. Blaim microsoft, the ones who made the console. They wern't thinking ahead and they pay developers to make all 3 versions pretty equal so that people will buy the xbox instead of ps3 or pc for graphics. If they FULLY utilized the ps3 it would look ALOT better, if they fully utilized the pc it would LOOK ALOOOT BETTER. But Microsoft make sure that doesn't happen.
