Does the 1.9 Patch + Sandbox editor make DLC useless?

Post » Wed Jul 06, 2011 8:02 pm

Since people can make custom multiplayer maps now, theres almost no point in buying the DLC unless you really wanted that other rifle or the smoke grenade.

Seriously people are making new maps and you know for sure 6 months from now there are going to be ALOT of custom maps available. Plus, if someone wanted to, cant they just make a custom map that looks EXACTLY or close to the current DLC maps?

Im really glad the community is able to do this...but you gotta admit Crytek shot themselves in the foot coz now for sure no one will buy DLC.

Crysis 2 DLC = Obsolete

It's not obsolete if you want PROFESSIONAL quality maps. Most community made maps are garbage that's thrown together in a few days by people that have no clue how to make a well balanced and functional multiplayer map.

Do you really think that the modding community wont create WAY BETTER maps than crytek? LOL you need to be more open-minded. Im pretty sure within a few weeks at the latest there will be custom maps that will look, if not be, exactly like the DLC maps.

Professional quality maps? LMFAO. Maybe now the custom maps are somewhat lacking, but give it a few months and the community is going to explode with awesome maps.

Sounds to me like you're just mad that you bought DLC and got ripped off coz you didn't know theres going to be custom maps. Haha you got trolled by Crytek.

Dude, don't get so angry. I like the maps that Crytek made a lot and I hope people play them because the Decimation map pack especially were really cool maps.

Im not angry. I'll be the last person to bash Crytek's DLC maps. I will admit that they are nice. But you cannot seriously believe that people will just create trash custom maps. Thats just plain ignorance and it only seems like Borss just wants to bash the modding community because he bought the DLC on a whim.

He could have just said "Yea you're right, but I like Crytek's maps better" and that would have been fine. Instead he gets mad coz im right and says that people on make crap custom maps. I'd like to see him say the same thing months from now...when he himself will be playing in custom made multiplayer maps. LOL

Yeah the custom maps are great, but DLC maps are bigger and funnier... Also, DLC maps have more options and lees limitations, but yes, the custom maps make a threat to the DLC map packs...

I just finished a few fun rounds of Steelmill, HotelRooftop, and SithForest (three very different approaches), and am left with a first-time-ever hope for the future of Crysis 2 PC.

The DLC isn't threatened! It was dead before it shipped. Quite the opposite, I think, may be true.

NO. Considering theres MP only DLC the situation is this : Custom MP Maps - Unraked (hackers,no points, waste of time)

It would have been great with weapon skins, sounds, etc etc. It worked! but due to lack of anticheat protection, Crytek locked that kind of editing since patch 1.2.

THIS!

DLC's have always been, And always will be, The worst way for a company to make a quick buck.

All DLC's do is split the community and Alienate players.
