Oblivion must have mods

Post » Thu Jul 07, 2011 8:26 am

Hi all, I'm a long time Morrowind player and just finally completed that great game, now moving on to Oblivion, I had just skimmed through the game using god mode years ago(yeah I cheated but I just want to get a overall feeling). When playing Morrowind I had installed a couple of great mods and would like to ask what are the must have mods?

For e.g Morrowind: i had installed Unofficial patch, Morrowind Graphic Overhaul, Morrowind Comes Alive, Starfire's NPCs, Darkbrotherhood armor changer, Hissyo Katana (a must have as it has an auto repair weapon script), Better Bodies, Give your orders, etc. I would love to post my Morrowind mod list here to see if there is any Oblivion mods that are similar but that might be too cumbersome and eye sore.

So what are the must have mods for Oblivion and anything like Morrowind comes alive ,etc? Cos all the mods abbreviations like fcom or ooo? are making me confused. Thanks.

Feel free to post your mod list, just use the spoiler function like I do below.
Bodies= HGEC, Roberts male body, and well there's a whole bunch of options for female bodies.

For the rest maybe check out http://matthewkaine.blogspot.com/, it covers a lot of graphics/ world shaping mods.

Topics like this are insanely common, there's probably more topics like this than there are mods made, and they just keep comming. If you want the most help possible it helps to give as much information, and uniqueness as possible.

Here's my generic written thing for these topics. if you want something specific give more details. I ask some questions in the below text as a small guide line:

If you want any further help I suggest you tell us about yourself; what you like and what you're looking for... Here's some questions to get you started:

Have you played Oblivion already?
What sort of things interest you?
What type of Character do you usually play? (good/evil, theif/mage, roleplayer/random-no-story-hack-and-slasher?)
Are there specific types of mods you think would interest you? (Quests, graphic mods, gameplay mods, overhauls, etc.)
When did you leave?
What did you not like about Oblivion? What did Oblivion not have or need more of?
Male or female character?

For the occasional "What are your must haves?"
Mostly quest mods: http://kno.li/i

My #1 must have mod would be an interface mod. This is my choice: http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=11280. Customizable, easy on the eyes... beautiful!

Another I consider essential is http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=18305 as the vanilla weather and lighting is a little basic. Nicely customizable as well.

I love FCOM, but there are alternatives. Unofficial patches are essential with OB too.

Otherwise, look around for mod recommendation lists as there really are so many, and new ones appearing here and there too.
