Non-hostile wild creatures to return in Skyrim?

Post » Thu Jul 07, 2011 5:13 am

In Morrowind there were some creatures out in the wild that wasn't determined to kill you. In Oblivion as far as I can remember, every creature that was considered wild would immediately hunt you down. I know that we've heard of new animals coming to Skyrim, such as cows etc, but I imagine these animals being tamed by farmers etc.. What I kinda want to return are those animals that are living in the plaines by themselves that you can just walk beside without being concerned about it biting your leg off. :sadvaultboy:
We've seen mamoths, but I wouldn't consider them wild as they've got those giants beside them.. Maybe there are loner mamoths?

Anyone agree on this? Has something like this been confirmed or discussed?

This was confirmed. Most animals won't really give a damn for you, attacking if you get too close. Other will just be permanently pissed off.

The animals work in their own ecosystem. If you get to close to a pack of wolves or something they just killed and are protecting, you'll be attacked. But we've also seen mammoths being led by a group of giants without much care for you, until you attack one of their mammoths or a dragon flies by and picks up a giant and drops him from a couple hundred feet in the air. (try to stay out of an animal's space, or avoid attacking a giant's livelihood and it seems you'll be relatively safe.) :tops:

So it kinda seems that animals and creatures have their own specific behaviour and ecosystem? I didn't know that, that's great news then! :) It always felt like that was lacking in Oblivion.

Cheers guys. :foodndrink:
