How many would like to see a prequel

Post » Thu Jul 07, 2011 6:15 am

I know the question has been asked in various ways but I've added a poll to get a more accurate count. I've also heard some say "Bethesda won't do a prequel" but haven't heard or read this anywhere besides fan posts. Soooo.. How many of you would like to see a Bethesda prequel starting the moment or moments before the bombs fall in 2077? I'm in favor of this for several reasons the main reason being the farther from 2077 we get the less chaotic and desolate the game will seem. I really liked the atmosphere in Fallout 3 but really think too much time had passed for that to seem plausible. I would also really like to see all the factions come together and maybe even take part in the forming of them right after the great war.

I wouldn't mind it. It would seem interesting and see how Pre war life was.

I'd like a DLC maybe where you take the role of an American soldier and you could go through a portion of the U.S. military in China (the location could be somewhere) and then you receive word that nuclear strikes are occuring and you have to try and lead your men to shelter before the bombs hit. I think this could be tied into later games (if the setting is in the U.S.) by having this be a story of a new faction's origins.

I wouldn't mind having the first tutorial mission being outside doing stuff in 2077, and when you have done everything like you do in Vault 101, the Oblivion sewers, Goodsprings etc. you watch the bombs blow up, you die and go into "X years later"

I mean, we had Anchorage...

Not a prequel to Fallout. A prequel to Fallout 3 could work though, as there are 200 years of unused timeline to fit the content in. Prewar game, imo, is out of the question.

Not me.
Most likely it will set up lore that contradicts previous lore.
And there won't be many connections to future factions, settlements, groups, creatures et cetera.
So nah.

Unless it's on the east coast... And it's map node based.
Yknow, just so it can give the east coast some decent amount of lore.

An F3 prequel would be nice since there are 200 years largely unaccounted for. It would provide the opportunity to introduce new and more dangerous mutations ( that possibly were eradicated over time) and other hazards. I think it would have the potential to put a bigger emphasis on actual survival, scavenging and things of that nature. I just kind of worry that as the timeline progresses that locations will be too developed, although that could also be a good thing with its own possibilities.

Thats more along the lines of Operation anchorage.
