Yeah, because it is not like Bethesda are actually adding anything new to replace the old systems, like perks, dragons, dual wielding etc. Or even re-introducing old things like the enchantment skill or carriage system. All they do is cut, cut, cut :violin:

slow clap that leads into full blown applause

That's not quite the same thing, because Bethesda took an isometric RPG with turn-based combat where player skill does not factor in at all, renowned for its writing and the multitude of ways to solve most any problem into a first-person sandbox action RPG that required you to shoot lots of mutants, with rather poor treatment of existing lore and of course a main quest with writing that is just awful. "But computrons cannot into presidency!" "You're right. I should blow myself up now."

Oh, I appreciate that, but I feel the attitude is the same.
I just hate this "if blah blah blah, you shouldn't be playing Skyrim/Elder scrolls/any rpg mentality. Who the hell do people think they are sometimes. There isn't too much of it in this forum, except imho any is too much. I perfectly understand why people are upset about many of the changes, but to say people who are happy about them shouldn't be playing this type of game, all I can call that is arrogance and a feeling of entitlement. Seems some guys like a companies products, they expect them to cease being a company.

If my old toaster breakers, I don't want it replaced with a blender. A blender would be a nice thing to have, but I still want to toast stuff.

I am 34, so I was dribbling on that bus a long time ago, I'll meet you all on there.

People who look at past games thinking they were somehow the pinicle are very much mistaken. I put it to you that if Daggerfall was so great it could be released tomorrow and charged £30 and people would be happy with it, mre so than they will when they recieve Skyrim. Daggerfall, Morrowind etc were all great for their time, but that time has come and gone, move on, deal with it. Do we really just want rehashes of games of yesteryear, or do we want games to try and progress? The idea that ES games can be reduced to a few tiny details, or else they somehow cease to be valid is insulting to all the previous incarnations. Are we really saying that the thing that made Morrowind great for its time was left and right pauldrons?
