Indoril Armor Question

Post » Fri Jul 08, 2011 4:22 am

Alright, so I've never really used the CS very much before, but I decided that I was going to try to remove the scripts on Indoril Armor so my character could wear it with worrying about Ordinators. So, I cracked open the CS and removed the OrdinatorUniform script from the Indoril Helmet and Cuirass and did the same for the Her Hand's armor, then I saved the esp file and activated it in Wrye Mash. However, when I tried talking to an Ordinator while wearing the armor, I got the "Where did you get that" dialogue prompt and was attacked by the Ordinator. I then tried dropping all of my armor, and went back to talk to the Ordinator. Even without even having the armor in my possession, I was still attacked.

I tried to make a new character, and went straight to vivec, killed an Ordinator (using the console), and took his armor. After equipping the armor, I talked to an Ordinator, and it seemed as though my mod was working. However, it only worked after I made a new character, and I was hoping I'd be able to get it to work on my current character. So, what exactly do I have to do to make this work? It almost seems as though the mod glitched on my character, because I still get attacked after I talk to Ordinators even without the armor equipped or in my inventory. Anyone have any advice?

In mash? I already tried that, the problem is persisting. I have a feeling that this is happening because I was wearing Ordinator armor when I made/activated the mod, I think I might try deactivating it and removing it from my inventory, then reactivating it.

Edit: That didn't work either...

It's probably because the script just changes a global variable that says whether the player is wearing the armour or not. The best thing to do disable the mod you made, take off all our armour, enable the mod, then put it back on.

Try using "set WearingOrdinatorUni to 0" from the console. That should reset the global that causes the ordinators to react violently.

Fixed it, I'm pretty sure what happened was that when I enabled the mod, it removed the script from the armor, but the script stayed applied to my character, and since the armor no longer contained the script, it was unable to remove the script from my character after unequipping it. So, the script basically became stuck on my character

Well, at least I've had moderate success with my first (small) foray in to modding. Thanks for the help.
