Question 4: Fast Travel: I started playing the series with Oblivion and I'm happy about it (they have Morrowind and Oblivion FT how can you not be happy? :D)

Because the world will be designed with Oblivion FT in mind and Morrowind travel will simply be added as a kinda ‘happy now?‘ response.

Your a mind reader!
Everytime I mention that morrowind was the perfect "base" IMO and I wish they would just improve upon the concept, options exploration, instead of just going into different direction altogather, some speed reading member completely mis-reprosents what I am saying into "O' you just want morrowind 2.0"..... Thank you for summing it up in a way that makes sense.

Let me join your team.

If you really liked a game, and a sequel is coming out, you want to have all the things that made you like the previous game in the sequel. Oblivion didn't deliver on that one, and what we know about Skyrim so far doesn't seem too promising for Morrowind-fans, either.

Started with MW, played Arena, DF and Oblivion. MW was the only one that would be in my top 10 games list.
Not particularly bothered about any of the things mentioned except I'm happy about marriege and relationships being in.
Most worried about story, lore, choices in quests, and number of factions. Those are much more important to me than game mechanics (unless they went the DA2 route and turned Skyrim into a mediocre combat game where backstabbing was a click the button special move).

Played all the previous games except for mobile ones, disappointed in almost everything I've heard/seen of the game so far. Pretty much have quit these forums already. Won't be buying the game before trying it.

I've played Arena, Daggerfall, Morrowind, and Oblivion. I started with Morrowind.

Merging of armor I don't like at all. Marriage I'll have to try but it sounds like a nice addition for RP'ers. Fast travel I don't like, the addition of carriages is (seems like) nothing special compared to the diverse system Morrowind had. And everybody having the same running speed is just horrible. Yeah my Khajiit will run just as fast as an Orc... great...

I know what my problem is. I don't like it how games get more and more simplified.

I've been a fan since Daggerfall and I'm indifferent to Armor and Fast Travel, happy about the romances, and I dislike that everyone will now run and jump the same.

Question 1: I played Morrowind and Oblivion, but Oblivion was my first. I like Oblivion a bit better but I enjoy them both.

Question 2: Armor merged: I started playing the series with Oblivion and I'm disappointed, though not overly so.

Question 3: Romance: I started playing the series with Oblivion and I'm happy about this. It's refreshing to see more features other than "more ways to kill things."

Question 4: Fast Travel: I started playing the series with Oblivion and I don't understand how anyone could be too disappointed. They have carriages for people that don't like fast travel, so if they don't like it then they don't have to use it. It's none of anyone's business what optional features others choose to use.

Question 5: Same Speed and Jump Height: I started with Oblivion and I'm mostly indifferent here. Jump is more game play oriented but when it comes to speed that's more of a player experience kind of thing. I'm not sure what to think.

Started with Daggerfall.

Armor? Don't care.
Relationships? Bout time.
Fast travel? Like.
Speed? Giving a greater emphasis on Light and Heavy armor, yeah all got it.

I voted:

Question 1: I played Arena, Daggerfall, Morrowind, and Oblivion (AND BATTLESPIRE).

Question 2: Armor merged: I started playing the series with Daggerfall and I'll have to play to judge first. --- The benefits of merging the cuirass and greaves mentioned in the fan Q&A sound great, but I'm going to wait and see how many different armor sets there are and how many NPCs can be handled on screen at one time before I make my opinion.

Question 3: Romance: I started playing the series with Daggerfall and I am disappointed. --- Todd Howard has spoken out against romance in video games on multiple occasions, and I'm thoroughly disappoint to see something as pointless and perverted as romance make its way into an Elder Scrolls game. Unless it actually improves the main narrative of the game, like in Mass Effect, it has no place in a video game.

Question 4: Fast Travel: I started playing the series with Daggerfall and I am happy. --- I eventually hated traveling in every Elder Scrolls game up until Oblivion. I always start off each game walking everywhere on foot, exploring every corner of the vast virtual world until I've uncovered all of its secrets, but then I eventually become bored of walking through the same areas I've already completely explored and really like to have fast travel as an option.

Question 5: Same Speed and Jump Height: I started playing the series with Daggerfall and I'll have to play to judge first. --- As long as there is some way to increase the movement speed and jump height of my character substantially (and I'm not talking one or two perks that make you sprint slightly faster or jump a little higher, I mean one of the yet to be confirmed skills directly affecting your base movement speed and jump height) then I'll be happy. If not, I'll be extremely disappointed.

I'm still ridiculously excited about Skyrim though, regardless of whether or not all of my "I'll have to play to judge first"s end up being "I am disappointed"s, because at the end of the day at its core, it's still an Elder Scrolls game --- A huge open world where you can be who you want to be and do what you want to do for hundreds of hours. No other game series has the same combination of freedom, immersion, and wealth of content as The Elder Scrolls, and that's why The Elder Scrolls will always be my favorite gaming franchise and why I'll always get excited for the next iteration.

I actually played Morrowind first but couldn't get into it( this means wondering around for ages not knowing where to find mr Cosades) . I played Oblivion then went back and completed Morrowind.

I think The Elder Scrolls has always fit with both situations in that picture (except for Arena).... TES has been a game series where you can choose to you can make it incredibly difficult if you want, but you can also choose to make it incredibly easy, if that's what floats your boat. So I guess it comes down to your choice for TES.

Demon's Souls still follows that picture's rendition of 1994's style of gaming, though, and it's an amazing game. Dark Souls (basically the sequel to Demon's Souls) is coming out October 4th, and I highly recommend checking both out if you haven't already. They're great, extremely difficult, super-hardcoe RPGs that anyone who is missing gaming's old ways should definitely check out.

I wonder how many of the people on these forums can even play Demon's Souls or Dark Souls.
