I voted:
Question 1: I played Arena, Daggerfall, Morrowind, and Oblivion (AND BATTLESPIRE).
Question 2: Armor merged: I started playing the series with Daggerfall and I'll have to play to judge first. --- The benefits of merging the cuirass and greaves mentioned in the fan Q&A sound great, but I'm going to wait and see how many different armor sets there are and how many NPCs can be handled on screen at one time before I make my opinion.
Question 3: Romance: I started playing the series with Daggerfall and I am disappointed. --- Todd Howard has spoken out against romance in video games on multiple occasions, and I'm thoroughly disappoint to see something as pointless and perverted as romance make its way into an Elder Scrolls game. Unless it actually improves the main narrative of the game, like in Mass Effect, it has no place in a video game.
Question 4: Fast Travel: I started playing the series with Daggerfall and I am happy. --- I eventually hated traveling in every Elder Scrolls game up until Oblivion. I always start off each game walking everywhere on foot, exploring every corner of the vast virtual world until I've uncovered all of its secrets, but then I eventually become bored of walking through the same areas I've already completely explored and really like to have fast travel as an option.
Question 5: Same Speed and Jump Height: I started playing the series with Daggerfall and I'll have to play to judge first. --- As long as there is some way to increase the movement speed and jump height of my character substantially (and I'm not talking one or two perks that make you sprint slightly faster or jump a little higher, I mean one of the yet to be confirmed skills directly affecting your base movement speed and jump height) then I'll be happy. If not, I'll be extremely disappointed.
I'm still ridiculously excited about Skyrim though, regardless of whether or not all of my "I'll have to play to judge first"s end up being "I am disappointed"s, because at the end of the day at its core, it's still an Elder Scrolls game --- A huge open world where you can be who you want to be and do what you want to do for hundreds of hours. No other game series has the same combination of freedom, immersion, and wealth of content as The Elder Scrolls, and that's why The Elder Scrolls will always be my favorite gaming franchise and why I'll always get excited for the next iteration.
