So... did Valve LIE to me?

Post » Fri Jul 08, 2011 8:33 pm

So, when I click on New Vegas in my Steam list, and then click on News, it as usual takes me to recent news regarding the related game. If I scroll down to the news release of Wednesday, July 6th, the VERY FIRST WORDS read "The Old World Blues DLC for Fallout: New Vegas is out on Friday. The Bethblog announes that a humongous patch is set to arrive alongside the expansion."

However, I now go to the Bethesda Fallout website, only to feel a DEEP disappointment (on an already fairly terrible night, not that this is bethesda or obsidian's fault.) that there is claim the content wont be available until July 19th, a VERY confusing and (to me) nonsensical 11 days from now, on a Tuesday of all days.

Did Valve lie? Are they simply incompetent? Was it an err on the side of the bethesda webmaster? I really don't understand, but after the excitement I felt over this DLC (I honestly did not care for the first two much at all, but this one has a thrilling sounding framework,) this is quite a letdown. I know it's less than two weeks away, but just this morning I thought it was less than 36 HOURS away.

they probably got the patch mixed up with the actual release. also keep in mind valve does not write all of the news articles on the news section of each game. they usually link popular articles.

July 19th is the confirmed date.

Not next Friday or tomorrow or today.

JULY 19TH!

It's not Valve's fault. The "news" section of each game is actually just an aggregate of sites from around the web. That particular story is from PC Gamer, so if you want to blame someone for getting it wrong, there's your culprit. :)
