Time manager questions.

Post » Sat Jul 09, 2011 5:11 pm

Ever since i was told about the mod Time Manager it has been in my load order, i really like it and it always worked without a single glitch. But now it does not work completely. It passes time when i am in my chars inventory and such, the waiting function works great as well. But today i saw in the conscribe static log that the timescale is being set at 30...

But i have set the timescale to 10 in the DS Time Manager.ini....

Spoiler
; Variable Timescale settings
; ---------------------------
; Timescale represents the ratio of real time to game time: 10 minutes of real time equal (10 x timescale) minutes in the game.
; Setting a value to 0 removes that area or situation from the mod's calculations, with two exceptions: setting WorldTimescale to 0
; will make WorldTimescale default to 30, and setting TownTimescale to 0 will make TownTimescale default to WorldTimescale
; For reference, vanilla timescale is 30, meaning 30 game minutes pass in one real-life minute in all circumstances.

set DSTM.VariableTimescale to 1 ; (1, toggle) Variable Timescale function
set DSTM.WorldTimescale to 10 ; (30) Timescale when outdoors in the wilderness of Tamriel
set DSTM.OblivionTimescale to 10 ; (30) Timescale when outdoors in Oblivion realms
set DSTM.TownTimescale to 10 ; (15) Timescale when outdoors in a town or an unknown worldspace (which includes Shivering Isles for now)
set DSTM.InteriorTimescale to 10 ; (10) Timescale when in interiors
set DSTM.SneakingTimescale to 0 ; (0) Timescale when sneaking (0 = disabled by default)
set DSTM.CombatTimescale to 3 ; (5) Timescale when in combat
set DSTM.TimescaleMode to 0 ; (0) Fallout behaviour for determining circumstance preferences - see the readme for details
set DSTM.SlowTimescaleChange to 0 ; (1) Adjust timescale up or down slowly over time, or set to 0 for instant timescale change

These settings always worked...untill i started with my new character yesterday, so it is a bit weird that the timescale is being set to 30 despite the settings in the DS Time manager.ini? Now at first i thought...hey i am using kuertee's Auto Save And Time mod so maybe i did not change something in it's ini file. But as far as i can see i deactivated the time functions in it's ini so that should not be the problem?

Do not get me wrong, it is not game stopping but it is weird that the timescale is set to 30 instead of 10 as it should. I even tried loading Time Manager as one of the last mods in the load list, but it still happened. Again it is not enough for me to remove Time manager, but i would like to know how this can happen?

This is my current load order...

Are you sure that the timescale is 30? Couldn't that be a default fallback setting? Maskar's Auto Sync and Time does that. You can check in the COBL menu to see what the timescale actually is in-game. There's a console command to do it too I think. Verify that first.

Edit: Oh, right, it's 'show timescale', ha-ha...

To be on the safe side i just checked with the COBL Timescale function, and it shows it is set at 10. Which makes it weird because the static log shows it is being set to 30?

The static log is only tracking output to the console. Something (even the Time Manager mod) might be initially setting the timescale to 30 and changing it later. That mod is changing the timescale dynamically anyway, right? To pass time in various menus, isn't it speeding time up temporarily? Well, whatever is going on in your game, I don't think the timescale is at 10 at all times after you load it for that mod to function completely.

Really, but according to the settings in the ini it should do just that, and as far as i can remember has done so since before my current character i could see on the HSB clock that time went a whole lot slower all the time, while now the HSB clock shows that time goes fast like the default setting?
