Body Types Opinion Poll

Post » Tue Aug 25, 2009 10:13 pm

In my opinion, the heavy body type is underused, and even slightly at a disadvantage. I also think that the light body type is a tad bit over used. But I do not think that it's at an advantage or disadvantage. That's just MY opinion on this situation. I just wanted some feedback on what you guys think. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, I'm not going to hate anyone for what they think. I would appreciate it if you post your opinion along with your answers to the poll.

Thanks,

Heavies are underused because ATM they are at a disadvantage IMO. The little bit of extra health and the mediocre heavy weps dont make up for a heavy being a bigger target and immobile (while using heavy weps) bullet sponge. When a light with a SMG outguns a heavy with a spooled up gotlung gun 9/10 times then that gun is too weak. The pros dont outweigh the cons which is too bad cause I want to like heavies more. A slight increase in the dmg to all their weps would make them a lot better.

I agree completely. Maybe an increase to weapon stability is in order, it makes sense there bigger.

To cut it short, I don't find heavy-users rare but appear to be the least popular.
I also feel that the health increase of heavies are too slight to compensate for the lack of manueverability. Neither are the heavier weapons that much more helpful.
I feel light is overused. Often by people that forget to utilise the features that mediums arn't capable of. They see it, they see it's cool, they see it looks easy to do, they just lack the mindset when it actually becomes practical.

Heavies are underused because the people trying to use them expect them to be something they're not.

I voted very under-used, but NOT under-powered - if you use a Heavy right, and play to their strengths, you can SLAUGHTER (but remember, it's not SLAUGHTER without LAUGHTER :celebration: :flamethrower:).

For Lights, I voted slightly overused, because I see a small excess in comparison with Mediums, but it's not too bad. I also voted NOT overpowered, though, because the vulnerability is just enough to leave them feeling fragile when compared with a Medium body, so it works well.

I honestly think that as people get more experienced, we'll see more Heavies and less Lights - a lot of people currently using them are doing so because of the novelty value of what Lights can do, not because they're good at being Lights. I'll admit I last a lot longer in a straight-up fight or at an objective as a Medium or Heavy, but I can still hold my own as a Light, and I can cause much more trouble for the enemy, and provide much more benefit for my team while I'm alive as a Light.

I voted that heavies are underused, and a bit UP. That slight health buff doesn't really counterweight horrible lack of mobility. Heavy weapons seem fine for me... at least Maximus... with COGA scope... and extended mags...

the heavy could use more health, and the heavy guns lack accuracy at moderate range. I run into this problem alot ill just get buffed with adrinalin and pop out and start spaying bullets, anyone within an (estamated) 20 meter range gets the full force of my weapons fire, but anyone past that has an advantage due to the lack of effective accuracy at moderate distance and hardly any bullets hit. i guess my point is the damage is good where its at (in my opinion) but the gun doesnt have good enough accuracy to keep up with the accuracy of the other scoped/red dot sighted guns.

gametypes are balanced well, i played my main big body type since i got that unlocked and for many levels, it takes a bit adaptation to get best results,

bigy can kill lots of people on a tight spot ( if some health supports are there too helps )

but the issue is not the kills us much the fun, most fun is on fast moving chars. noone is overpowered ,

game offers smooth choices of gameplay suited to each ones desired style.

My friend, you hit it right on the nail. There is no reason logically that a light with an SMG should out gun a heavy with an LMG or chaingun. I mean c'mon, the EUSTON packs more punch then all of the heavy weapons aside from the shotgun. About the only advantage a heavy has with heavy weapons is big ammo clips. But the lack of damage for their weapons as well as mobility put heavies at a distinct disadvantage, especially against other players. Last competitive game I played as my light rank 4 operative, I LITERALLY slid between two heavies with chainguns, and butchered both of them with the Tampa. Perhaps its because these two particular players weren't very good, but regardless...there's no way I should have came out of that exchange with two kills.

I voted no. I have no problems with or against either and can't reacall seeing too many or not enough, although it's hard to tell the difference between lights and mediums when they fall down the second after I see them.

The trouble with heavies is that they don't have enough extra health to justify not being able to move, and quite frankly I'm simply not afraid of their bigger weapons. They seem underwhelming to me. I tried a heavy and vowed never again, even if you try to play to their strengths, what you lose from the other body types is too much.

I also thing Lights are overused but not overpowered. I really strongly enjoy the Mediums now for their assault rifles and silliness, they kill much more efficiently than my Lights ever could. I run Light on characters whose abilities matter more than their weapons, because the Light's ability to escape danger is extremely useful, and if all else fails and ammo runs out they can still use their bodies as a reasonably effective weapon, at least knock a few folks over and buy the team some time. I end up doing that a lot if my magazines run dry and my soldiers are too busy NOT refilling ammo.

Just gonna pop in here to check on things. The answers for the poll were both expected, and a little unexpected, but I like how many people answered it. Thanks to all who have answered the questions and/or posted on the topic.

All of the people who posted on the topic make some good points, and like i said in the first post, everyone is entitled to their own opinion.

I encourage all to keep posting and enjoy the conversation/debate.

Thanks again,
