What is with all the bugs?

Post » Sun Jul 10, 2011 3:33 am

Pete keeps clearing his throat and walking away, even if I disable and enable him. So, I use console to raise my reputation with the Boomers.

The NCR ambassador sends me on a mission to get help from the Boomers. I go to Pearl like I'm supposed to, there's no option - I assume because I've already started valore.. So, I use console to finish the quest.

Now, the ambassador won't give me my next mission (king's gambit?)

So, my game is completely screwed for the NCR line..

To complain a little more, at HELION when I sent the power to archmedes and turned on the switch.. Because I used world travel before the last laser blast hit, I didn't lose any reputation with the NCR like I was supposed to.
Alternatively, if I send power to Vegas and it tells me to talk to the guy after that (not fantastic, the other one), there's no option, no dialog...

There's been other bugs, but I worked around them. Now I'm just plain stuck..

Seriously, is my game over? :(

Have you installed any mods by any chance?

Also since you already used the console, that could have screwed it up. Since you feel like your game is screwed up, why not uninstall it, and redownload it from Steam and reinstall it again because it sounds like your game is corrupt if you did not put any mods on it.

No MODs.

No numbers at the bottom of my main menu.

I bought the game a week ago or less and installed via steam. Should be latest?

Using the console to try to fix something that was already broken, screwed up my game? It screwed up before that. :brokencomputer:

I don't want to start over.. :(

When you first talked to Pearl after raising the bomber, did you mention to her that you can use her help at the dam? If so, you should have had an option with the ambassador to tell him they were already signed up.

Its always a good idea to keep saves from important points in RPGs. Its absolutely essntial in FONV.
So many times my game would've been screwed up if I hadn't had an earlier save to go back to.

You don't need to redownload the entire game from Steam if something is corrupt. You can simply do a "Verify integrity of game cache..." to ensure none of the files are corrupt and if any are then it will only need to download them rather then the whole game.
