Fun Builds?

I wouldn't like unarmed tbh because ive always been afraid of the though of a deathclaw beating me to death while im giving him a punch.

I really like smallguns as i can easily repair them at Gun Runners.. Haven't even tried energy weapons or big guns. Guns was also my build in Fallout 3.

ive done a couple of different builds like one was a [censored] cowboy that only used shotguns revolvers and a few rifles and he collected plungers... and another one was an energy weapons person that was a doctr so he collected medical supplies. When you decide of a build you should do a dead is dead playthrough with them.. if you dont know what that is heres a link to the forum http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1205789-the-dead-is-dead-thread-3/

edit: how was r etarded censored? lol..

Guns is the least hassle combat skill in the Fallout series. Plenty of weapon/ammo varieties for different targets, plenty of damage for low weight.

Personally, I appreciate Unarmed very much. You need chems and heavy armor and poisons and a couple of perks, but it's really satisfying to beat Deathclaws and Radscorpions at their own game.

Probably my favorite build is my high luck EW specialist....every crit perk, grahams armour, boone beret....he's a crit MONSTER....LOL at lvl 16 he uses a fully modded laser rifle and laser RCW (for up close and personal) and that's it for weapons. He's going strong and having a blast..

I agree with Jim

My fav. build is the EW specialist paired with high luck.'
Max out your luck, put on Grahams armor and a 1st Recon Beret, Finesse, Laser Commander, etc.
and it becomes really satisfying when you start vaporizing everything in your path with only a couple shots :flamethrower:

Not to mention with max luck you can break the bank in every casino :hubbahubba:

...what's wrong with punching a deathclaw to death?

I liked Cowboy builds pre-patch. Post-patch, automatic weapons have become the cat's meow.

Go Explosives exclusively with no other combat skills.
You will get hurt, you will kill yourself and companions a lot.
But that's what makes it interesting as you have to adapt to new tactics.
Choosing even a single other combat skill would ruin it though, so absolutely NO melee weapons for giant rats, gotta use explosives on them.
(I suggest completing Dead Money so you get the new mines from the dispenser in infinite supply.)

Personally I enjoy high Luck EW Builds. Nothing more satisfying than getting Meltdown pretty much every kill. ^_^

My current playthrough I'm having a blast. I'm RPing as a Mormon convert. I wear light armor, either Joshua Graham's armor or gecko backed Reinforced Leather Armor with authority glasses and Daniel's hat or bandana.
Focused solely on guns, pretty much all the guns from Honest Hearts plus shotguns. My decisions are based on what a New Caninite would do in the Mojave.
