SSAO not on by default?

Post » Mon Jul 11, 2011 12:33 am

Question though I use NO customconfig at all and am at max settings ultra with DX11 on, and I type r_SSAO in the console in my loaded savegame, I see the value 0!!!! Isn't this supposed to be on @ ultra? Remember! clean installation no configs!!

This is why I added r_SSAO 1 to enable it which seem to make the place darker which cost me 3-5 fps... values of 2,3,4 give a similair effect but for less fps, not sure what each value does though.. Are there other values that I must config for SSAO? I saw a few but they don't work anymore

I see... ssdo replaces ssao? So I should disable it then if I want maximum graphics? They cannont coexcist?

Though I do note a graphical difference SSAO makes everything a bit darker, just like in crysis 1. So im not sure what effect ssdo has..?

High, very high has a value of 4.. extreme has a value of 3 I see.

Ultra has value of 0...

So is r_ssao value 2 and 1 best ssao quality or what? They are not used in the default configs.

Chriss m8 SSDO is better then SSAO. With dx11 upgrade they also included advanced SSAO called SSDO which makes everything more realistic(it really does see picture). So when you turn on ultra settings in order for SSDO to be turned on SSAO must be turned off.
