Quick Companions Question

Post » Mon Jul 11, 2011 1:51 pm

So I just started playing New Vegas a week or so ago, (loving it, considered I got it for $10 at Best Buy) and I'm pretty familiar with the companion system. I got the jist of it in Fallout 3 and I understand there are more improvements to the system in New Vegas, like for example you can use 2 at a time. So, I just came across my first companion, Boone.

My question is, with all of the new amounts of companions in the game, if you decide to break off a companionship with someone, can you go back later and have them re-join you? Where would they be? In their hometown or something? I just kind of want to see what all of the different companions are, and may want to switch them, but I also may want to go back and rejoin them also. Im assuming it is an unlimited swap system assuming the companion is still alive, just wanted to double check though.

Thanks!

Yes, unless you did something terrible to their faction

They will tend to be where you first found them after breaking off, returning to that place. Also, there will be a popup that describes where they go after you dismiss them.

Few more twists may eventually arise but you'll get the gist of things.
