They'll probably try not to add any new systems or game features at this stage. Nothing major anyway. they were messing with a lot of tghings that didn't make it I gather, trying out all sorts of things. In that sense you could say it's done, but they still have time to modify and keep adding detail as it gets tested and the game coalesces into a more solid state. test, fix, tweak, polish.

They said a while back that the main thing left was sorting out balancing issues. They also said they were reworking the UI and the one we saw at E3 was not the final version.. Praise Azura Mehrunes Dagon. :celebration:

Haven't seen Thunderjunk or Vsions posting in the Dev Thread much, if at all, so we can assume they're super busy.

Maybe it's "Crunch Time"

Yeah thats what i was thinking.

4 Months till release, but keep in mind games typically go gold and get sent to whoever is actually going to produce the DVD's, stuff em in boxes, etc. about a month or so prior. So the dev's really have just around 3 month's they can actually still touch the game. As for what they are working on? Hard to tell, I wouldn't think they've hit the drop dead date for adding new features/content yet but they are probably pretty close.

Exactly. And they're doing a simultaneous worldwide launch, which is a big undertaking. Between preparing for that, bug testing, and finishing the game they have to be in crunch mode now. It's going to be interesting to see what they show at QuakeCon.

Hard to believe eh? It was a loooooong time away when it was announced and now it's almost here.

I think they are debugging. There have got to be a lot of bored employees who are sick of playing the game already, but keep it up for all the people who are going to feed your children soon!

I think I read somewhere that they're just fixing bug's. I know from previous games that bugs can vary between hardly noticable to oh... That could ruin the game. Meaning it gets delayed. I don't mind a few bug's / glitches being in the game (Some can be entertaining). Right now my only worry is Skyrim being delayed. :tes:

I highly doubt it will be delayed, even at the cost of being bug-ridden. Like I said in another topic that got closed, they would get so much egg on their face for missing a date that has been so heavily marketed and invested in, that they'd be able to make enough omelettes to feed a small country

That said, I do believe they know what they are doing so I'm not worried about the game being too glitchy.

Only 4 months....I think I can I think I can... :tes:

I'd be pretty surprized if they hadn't learned from past mistakes and given proper time for testing and QA. So I fully expect them to devote at least 1.5 months to that alone. From my knowledge of software projects, I would UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES WHATSOEVER be trying to add new features in the other 1.5 months though, because that is 100% guaranteed to produce even more bug testing and QA that they don't have time for.
So yeah, bug squashing, QA, and minor additions that don't require new features in (f.e. a few small Radiant Story templates, clothing items - that sort of thing).
