Where is DX10?

Post » Tue Jul 12, 2011 5:16 am

My questions are: "Is there any way to get some of the DX11 feautures enabled witch an DX10 graphics-card?. Do you think Crytek will bring a patch with DX10-support?"
Because I have mentioned that the difference-pictures are just showing the gap between DX9 and DX11 and that Crysis 1 also HAD such called "POW" and a better looking ocean!
Where is DX10?
I am playing Crysis 2 with High-Res-Textures and everthing Ultra (and saw the differences) but without these feautures something important is missing. I cannot understand why crytek didnt included dx10-support in the DX11 Patch. Its annoying!

I wondered this too and am annoyed how DX10 is being ignored by some developers yet still cater for DX9.

I'm also waiting for the retards to come in with an answer like 'Just get a DX11 card" like they are free.

Oooooooo! AHHHHHHHH! Windows VISTA, now with DirectX 10.. It's the thing to have, we promise! Buy Vista today because Vista has DX10 support.... Yeah, nice marketing tactic...

Vista turns out to be a piece of sh:t after selling millions of copies... DX10 is totally useless and DX9 is still capable of doing everyting DX10 can.

Same with DX11... Lets all buy new OS, new PC, and video card every year to play a 50 dollar game to support the industry folks... (rolls eyes)

As long as game developers are porting over console games to PC. We are stuck with DX9 games unless they want to take the extra time. To added DX10/11 support to the games. They gave us DX11 and High Res Textures as a gift 4 months later. Crysis 2 use to run great on my pc till the 1.9 patch. I can deal with the drop in fps running DX11. But the dam crashing to desktop after loading into 4th mutiplayer map is nuts. I have to play 3 mp games then quit and restart crysis everytime. Crashes in MP running DX9 and DX11 single player has not crashed yet.Didn't have this crashing with
version 1.8. Guess it cause I have 2 ATI HD6970's.

When the next generation of consoles come out they'll probly support DX11.
And from what I read about the next PS4 and Xbox they both using ATI HD grapics.

1-Yes. Some DX11 features are automatically in DX10 but only very very minor features. Nothing big like tesselation and stuff. Mainly features for better frames and slightly better visuals (tho the extra features or so small that it's barely noticeable)

2-No, Crytek won't bring DX10 support -_-". There's no need for DX10 support. DX10 is included with DX11. When a DX10 card user plays the game with the DX11 installed (regardless of it being on or off), they automatically get the DX10 features. They simply won't get the DX11 features. So in other words, if you play Crysis 2 with your DX10 card without DX11 enabled, you'll still be playing with the DX10 features on because you already installed DX11.

3-Crytek won't bring DX10 support because DX10 support already comes with DX11. This **** should be common knowledge to a PC gamer, like wtf ppl.

Crysis 2 was never ported. Go learn how it was made and how the CryEngine 3 works before you say stupid things. I'm trying to help you out.
