Polymorphing.

If it isnt allready in the vanila game, I want some one to make a spell or mod that allows you to shape change into any creature. But not monsters.

I want to be ablel to change into a bear, or cat, or dog, or wolf, or a bird, or any other woodland creature found in skyrim. But Im not looking to change into a monster. That means no trolls, or imps, or goblins, or skeletons. etc.

Do you think it can be done?

Then we don't even need mounts. We could be the mounts.

I can finally live out my fantasies and morph myself into a Narwhal! Oh, happy day! :twirl:

In the game Redguard you could turn into a bird for fast traveling, or a gremlin so you could sneak around. I wouldn't mind some morphing.

This was basically our role in OB. We were just horses for Martin Septim, man, just horses... think about it.

While I dont think polymorphing or shapechanging will be in the vanilla version of Skyrim (or at the very least not how you would imagine) I do believe that it will be possible to mod such things in as I am fairly sure there are some mods for Oblivion that already allow this.

I think they should be difficult to obtain if there at all. It would be cool if they were for combat.

By taking a long, long way around...

...that involves forcing the player to basically mount the creature they're supposed to "change" into and then making them invisible, so that only the mount is shown. It doesn't sound bad in theory, but look at all the inevitable glitches that method is sure to trigger - the player character randomly refusing to "mount" their "form" for no reason, the creature getting scared of something or provoked, thus running away before it can be mounted, the player getting stuck thanks to the fact that the game hates it when the player character is script-forced to perform an action... or simply causing a CTD.

Now imagine how much easier and more stable it would be if only there was a built-in framework for direct shapeshifting, without any necessity of overly creative and bug-prone workarounds...

You forgot the player character becoming un-invisible while on a wolf or deer, and looking completely ridiculous.

EDIT: Also, I agree.

Shades.. I beg you.. Please be careful who you ask that question to lol.

Anyways, i think it would be pretty cool. Not sure how it would play out... Bird and Dragon lol. To be honest i doubt it will be in vanilla, but its an idea for a mod.

Oh, don't even get me started on that... You have no idea what horror and discouragment are until you see your character riding a tiny vulture like a horse after a few very painful days of trying to get your "simple" shapeshifting mod to start cooperating...
