Level 20 dlc? Broken Steel

Post » Wed Jul 13, 2011 1:06 am

I have a couple questions about the dlc.

So far I've played OA and the Pitt. Not sure what to play next. I'm a level 19 and probably no where near done with the game, taking it very slow and enjoying the game. I heard there is a dlc that makes it so you can go to level 30. My question is I only have 10 bucks and I'd like to get the dlc pack that let's me advance the extra levels, so what one does that? Am I correct the broken steel? Also how does it work, once I install it can I start going past level 20 even if I dont start the dlc? Is it like the other dlcs that I played that take me out of the game. Also can I start it before I beat the game. My problem is I'm moving to northern California and I won't have Internet to download anything for a few months so I'd like to be able to progress to level 30 for something to do. I'd like to skip the other dlc I didn't mention(don't know the name).

If anyone can explain any of this that would be great. Thanks much!

Yes. Its "Broken Steel".

The DLC basically starts right when you install it. Unlike the others (like OA and the Pitt) there isn't a specfic place to go to in order to start the questline or anything like that (although there will be a place you will travel to in the questline).

So to answer your question, yes, once its loaded you can begin leveling above 20.

Is it like the other dlcs that I played that take me out of the game.

I said it in the above post. But yes, there will be a place you will travel to that is specfic to the DLC. But again, going to this place doesn't "start" the DLC, its just part of the overall questline.

Also can I start it before I beat the game. My problem is I'm moving to northern California and I won't have Internet to download anything for a few months so I'd like to be able to progress to level 30 for something to do. I'd like to skip the other dlc I didn't mention(don't know the name).

You can start it whenever you want, and begin leveling whenever you want (there isn't a specfic order to play the DLCS by the way).

The main questline for Broken Steel though, starts when the main questline for Fallout 3 is done. You don't actually have to do the questline though if you don't want to. A good portion of it takes place in the Capital Wasteland anyway.
