Honest Hearts / Leveling / Using Dead Money Saves?

Post » Wed Jul 13, 2011 4:43 am

Hey everyone, I'm new to the forums but did a quick search to try and find my answer but didn't. I understand the whole need to load an older save to keep playing the DLC but I am a little bummed/confused. My save before the END of New Vegas I am a level 29...and then at the end of Dead Money a 32. Is there anyway to use my save info from Dead Money so i can be a higher level going into Honest Hearts? Or do I absolutely have to start from my level 29 save from the main campaign?

You can go straight from Dead Money to Honest Hearts if you want to. DLC's don't interfere with each other.

Well right but doesn't Dead Money kick you back to the Menu after you finish it? (the slideshow and all that) And you can't fast travel from inside the vault (at the end..)... so all the XP you get during Dead Money can't really carry over into the game, right? Or am I missing a huge piece of common sense?

Go to the fountain in DM. Turn around. There's a gate with some writing on the wall next to it saying you'l go boom if you go that way. Go out that gate, and you'll be magically teleported to the BoS Bunker.

Dead Money is connected to the core game, only it isn't. The area and gamespace, Sierra Madre, I mean.

Everything you've gained or have in your inventory from DM will carry back with you. Same goes for Honest Hearts.

On the other hand Honest Hearts can be visited even after completing the DLC. But unlike say FO 3's Point Lookout you can't leave back to the Mojave Wasteland and the New Vegas area untill HH's main plotline is done

Well i feel like a total new player. Do I have to go through the end of Dead Money again and then do it? I loaded a save from Dead Money that was the same level cap I want to be at... went to the fountain and found the gate but it says I need a key to return to the Mojave Wasteland. Help/Ideas?

You can only return to the wasteland after completing Dead Money. After you leave the vault and deal with your captor. If you reloaded an earlier save, you will have to do it all over again.
