[CFG] Radeon HD 5970 + i7-940 OC 3.48 Ghz DX11

Post » Sun Jul 17, 2011 11:28 am

Hello, is it normal that I have difficulty to run Crysis 2 with DX11+Hi-Res Texture? As I saw on Futuremark, 5970 is the second best video card, where is the problem? :/
Do I need to have 10 GTX 590 in my computer ?..

Is it possible that, like many games, Crysis 2 got paid by Nvidia to be exclusive ?

AMD cards lack the tessellation performance of NVIDIA cards but yeah, expect 30-35fps maxed out.

So it means that I got scammed by buying the second best video card. Oh yeah, it's fun.

No, it means you need a Crossfire or SLI set-up to get near 60fps. :)

Well the 5970 is crossfire on one card..
But something is really wrong as atleast for me because i'm getting about the same fps when using the lowest as the highest settings..

And i can run crysis 1 maxed out with 1920*1080 resolution and getting smooth 50-70 fps.. :/

Not sure but Crysis 2 with the DX11 stuff is more demanding than Crysis 1. Tessellation and particle effects are the real frame-rate killers. Maybe Crytek will optimise the game more in the next patch and NVIDIA/AMD will get better drivers.
