Disk Drive Issues

Post » Sun Jul 17, 2011 10:07 am

Hello,

I have an issue with my Disk Drive (it fails to read most disks I try to load), but I still have the original code for the Games For Windows Live, I have tried to redeem the code and it comes back saying it is invalid, what can I do?

If it helps, I have the fallout 3 game of the year edition as well... Any help would be greatly appreciated!

P.S: Sorry if this has been posted before now!

Is the game already installed? If so you can use FOSE to bypass the launcher/disc check.

If you need to install it and you have another PC laying around, you could place the disc in that PC and share the disc drive over the network. Or you can just pick up a new DVD drive, its only about $18-$20 for a new one these days.

Its not installed on another computer, as I do not own another computer, is there no way that I can just get the code and get a digital download?

The code doesnt give you a digital download. Its just to authenticate your game with GFWL, allowing you to unlock achievements and buy DLC (pointless with GOTY). Its best to buy a new disc drive (making sure that it is compatible with your motherboard; SATA or IDE).
