The Great Landmass Compatibility Project

Post » Sun Jul 17, 2011 11:46 pm

The Goal: With the great 3 major projects upcoming, all of Tamriel Rebuilt, Province Cyrodil, and Skyrim, what's going to happen to all the other great landmass mods? My goal is to gather the largest amount of community accepted landmasses and make them compatible with the great 3 projects and eachother. Also try the keep the landmasses where they would geographically make sense. Ex. Landmasses that don't have snow, should not be above vvardenfell or skyrim.

The plan:
1. Gather landmasses and/or their modified esm/esp so extra work does not have to be done

2. Test landmasses one at a time, and move them ( if neccesarry) using tesfaith and supply the community with the updated esm/esp s.

Placement:
1. Anything with snow should be placed north of vvardenfell and skyrim
2. Anything with similar geography to morrowind should be placed east of tamriel rebuild 1,2, and 3
3. Anything with desert should be placed south/southeast of tamriel rebuilt maps 3 and 6

Compatible:
1. Tamriel Rebuilt 1-6
2.Province: Cyrodil
3. Skyrim
4. Wizards Island with super patch(moved edition) I will provide link when I'm not using an iPhone :P
5. Ald vendras
6. Island of tussar

Mods I need to confirm/fix and I will be working on:
1.silgrad tower/blacklight - ( probably gonna move east of TR )
2.anatasia - ( probably gonna move south/southeast of TR)
3.Riller moss (haven't seen placement yet)
4. PMR- sea of destiny ( haven't seen placement yet)
5.Dues ex Machina ( haven seen placement yet)
6. Havish
7.veldion

To the community: this is a project I would have tried on my own, but I thought I'd gather help and advice from the community so they can enjoy this idea as well. If anyone has mods they would like to see included, please let me know! Also of you know any already moved patches that are compatible with my goal let me know!!

I will update this page often!! Thank you!

Silgrad tower being used in conjunction with TR is a bit redundant. The town is also part of TR (though under a different name I believe, and certainly different looking). Just throwing that out there as playing with both of them just makes no sense to me. Good luck in moving all of these landmasses. Also don't forget about Melchior Dahrk's upcoming Lyithdonea which will be Southeast of TR and compatible with all of the Tamriel Provinces. Should you move anything down that way it may conflict with that project when it finally comes out. Just a thought.

Interesting. You might want to check out my thread: http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1194953-taking-mod-compatibility-requests/. I have started a project similar tot his and moved Booty Island already (though there is a bug I have to fix with mine.) Please take a look at the first post's maps. I made them with some realistic positioning (Argonian lands to the south-east, snowy places north), but I've not seen all the mods yet so some may be badly placed. I'd love help working out the placing of each land ;)

If nothing else, I the maps album will show you the original placing of each of the mods that have been reported to conflict with TR (I could be missing some of course). Those maps should be helpful to you...

The Zone would be great to see compatible with TR. As it is I love the atmosphere and Dwemer influence of this admitedly small area too much to deactivate it.

Moons Spawn also has some interesting locations and an interesting continuance on what happened with the Dwemer.

Great project idea.

I would like to release a revised version of Sea of Destiny in the future that relocates the lands. My goal would entail making it compatible with the most possible number of other mods available currently or about to be released. However, complete compatibility will by near impossible because of the sheer number of landscape mods. This is a great project idea and should finally allow for people to enjoy more mods in one play through.

awesome!! The way its gonna work for my project is, whoever or whatever i find first, thats where it will be. So if someone moves a landmass, i'll make sure that landmass stays there, and the others get moved around it. kinda like a first come, first serve. thank you btw

As far as I'm aware, Deus Ex Machina is so far north that it doesn't conflict with anything, at least with the patch.

Oh, very good idea. I can only second what SamirA said: Silgrad Tower is really not worth including if you work with Tamriel Rebuilt. It's not being worked on anymore, and does not even make any sense together with TR.
