Ok so I'm pretty new to forums and I know this has been around alot but does anyone have like alot of name suggestions for each race I'm trying to find a cool name for oblivion my name is Kyle Godsey if that helps I love playing all races mostly humans and DUNMER

For name ideas I always go to the UESP's collection of names: http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Lore:Names

It's a, I think, complete list of all the NPC's in Oblivion, Morrowind, and occasionally other games as well. I tend to pick one of the names and tweak it a bit. But for Bretons, I don't go for French-inspired names, I turn to the Breton language, as I feel that makes more sense.

Just name your character Happypuppy or something snappy like that

With a Bosmer named Buffy, I'm hardly an authority on TES names. :blush: That said however, I use lots of TES names in our fan fiction story, and the links provided in posts 2-4 above are top among the rescources I use. :goodjob:

My character′s name is a mystery. He really didn′t have one for a long time, or he did but he didn′t tell me. One day in Bruma outside the Mages Guild I finally heard in my head, "Lothran. My name is Lothran".

That's cool! Sort of reminds me, in a way, of that part in the LotR, TT, when Treebeard remarks to the hobbits Merry and Pippin that they are "very hasty" to trust him so quickly by telling him their true names.

I test out a few names by looking at my characters and see if they fit.

For example, I currently have 3 characters:
Breton female- Rayn. Her name came to me as soon as I saw her face. These things happen sometimes.

Redguard male- Arum. His name originally was Arumel, but that didn't seem to fit, it seemed more a dunmer name, so I shortened it a little bit and now it suits him magnificently.

Khajiit female- Risa. She is a re-incarnation of a previous Risa, whose name and everything else for that matter didn't seem to fit her. I decided to re-run her with different skills and things and she's already become a strong personality in my mind, even though I've only played her for a few hours. I'm confident I'll have my strongest role play experience with her.

I named my Regina Valdis. Guess what race she is?

http://ebon.pyorre.net/ is another great name generator. It uses Tolkien's languages (with a few obvious exceptions), and most fit the TES races very nicely.
