Strange Sound Issue : IV

After reinstalling oblivion particular sounds were not working like actor voices when they are talking directly to me, equipping/unequipping, and lock picking. So far nothing I've tried has worked. This sounds like the non-existent center channel problem to me. It happens if Oblivion is trying to use Surround mode when you've only got regular speakers or headphones.

How do I change it from surround mode if thats the issue?

It's an INI setting. bUseSoftwareAudio3D=X -- If X is 1, then Oblivion tries to use 5.1 surround sound. If X is 0, you get regular stereo output.

I found that it was set to surround but even after changing it the sound still isn't working right.

Maybe your system audio is set up wrong.
