Can someone explain to me the laser sight?

Post » Mon Jul 18, 2011 3:56 pm

I ahev a couple questions, because im thinking about using this attachment but I want to have a few things explained.

I heard from a source that the laser sight actually improves aiming from down the sights and from the hip. My main question is does the gun that has the laser equipped actually become more accurate or is it the fact that youy have a sight showing you where the bullets are going that improves accuracy. Also I really dont understand how having a laser would help improve aiming from down the sight.

And when in stealth i occasionally see the laser become visible even though I am in stealth. Are your opponents capable of seeing this aswell. Im assuming not as I dont think ive ever seen a person in stealth with a visible laser but If I can get another opinion i'd appreciate it. If anyone can help me with that and overall rate their expieirience using the alser sight i;'d greatly appreciate it thnx.

I surprised I've had to wait this long to get a "retaliatory" response from a halo fan. Seriously this is a first.

The laser sight is an awesome tool. It allows for more precision in aiming, which complements a game if it puts movement and aim at the top of things. It did this properly in Crysis 1 and Wars, where the Nanosuit was stronger and faster, encouraging more people to enhance their movement and hip fire skills, in turn making for very intense firefights.

Many people would understand laser use a lot better if they came from these games. But anyway, the problem is, the laser isn't so well done in C2, ADS is rewarded more, but ADS coupled with a laser could make sense being slightly more effective though it's hard to tell. And yes, in all Crysis games, the laser actually does physically decrease spread the same way that the point fire enhance module does.

Yes, there are apparently bugs that make a cloaked player's laser appear to enemies, but heavy cloak use doesn't really go well with lasers anyway, so if you're too comfy with your stealth use, don't bother. Which you seem to be in your videos, also mentioning in one how simple you think this game is, and that's sadly true compared to the originals, but you're also making it overly simple for yourself by spending all your time in cloak.

The laser in Crysis 1 is much easier to see the red dot, and thus easier to aim with. When I use the laser in Crysis 2 I find myself missing most of my hipfire shots because most of the time I can't see the red dot properly in a firefight. Although the hip fire accuracy without the laser is so terrible anyway you might as well put the laser on :P

Crysis wars laser was literally more accurate with pointfire, and less visible and less glitchy lol.

Its more of a nerfed implementation of the old laser. From the calculations i've done, for about 60% of the guns its better than pointfire enhance, it does appear to stack with the perk as well. Laser was only visible in wars in certain atmospheric conditions (far more realistic). In Crysis wars none of us used stealth because you could reliably get headshots in close to mid range with a laser'd scar. For most rifles, except handguns, laser gives approximately a 60% reduction to pointfire spread (depending on gun). I don't believe it makes ADS more accurate, but it does give you a dot to aim at which makes it easier for people. Laser is a bit weird on handguns and grendel.

ADS is rewarded more because power mode is always on, unlike in wars where you had to be in strength mode to get the benefit for aiming.

Laser is invisible when you stealth UNLESS, you climb a ledge, change weapons, aim down scope, or they use nanovision or if you have a high ping it will always be visible at random. Usually you have to re-stealth to turn the laser off again. Very glitchy. If laser wasn't visible from the otherside of the map, i'd stop using stealth.

Laser works well on Scar, Scarab and Fy71. I've found with other guns the laser is a bit weird, or very inaccurate.

I found a glitch with laser sight.

Equipment:
Scar
Laser sight
Single Shot
Point Fire Enhancement (don't know yet if it stacks with laser sight)

So when shooting from the hip you have almost no bulletspread!
BUT!
When firing from the hip with Single Shot, you have huge recoil.
Laser sight + Single Shot is absolutely pointless if that happens with every gun.
